    And she'll be gone this afternoon. Did a straight trade for a 2000 Triumph Thunderbird with 8k miles that needs some minor cleaning and carb work - leaking gas out the overflow. I needed another project in the living room anyway ;D

    Re: '73 CB250 - 'Rustic Racer' conversion. Also the numbers on a racing bike have to be in a place that is clearly visible. In the center of the bike they would be obscured by the rider's legs so that's not race legal.

    I would much rather have something lighter like a Ninja 500/FZR 400 but budget is limited so I figured I'd see if I could work with what I have. I love the GPz - it looks awesome and has that 80s muscle bike machismo - but I think I may end up selling it or doing a trade for an old Ninja 250/500...

    Re: '73 CB250 Seat's looking good. That crack in the intake manifold was probably leaning out the mixture pretty badly and would partially explain why the revs don't drop when you let off the throttle. I had the same issue with my GPz and ended up caulking it too until I could get a replacement :P

If you're still getting overflow that means your gas level in the carbs is too high so you'll be running rich, which is consistent with the black, sooty plug.     Re: '73 CB250 I'd check the condition of the plugs to see whether you're rich or lean on that side then adjust the carbs accordingly. And verify the float levels are ok as well.

    Has anyone successfully rejetted a 2-stroke carb for a 4-stroke?

    They are theoretically going on a CB175. Motor and pipes are stock for now but will eventually have a little porting done and maybe a size up on the intake valves. It doesn't look like there are any spigots for oil on the carbs.

    I have an old set of Mikuni VM24-26 carbs which came off a Yamaha YDS-3C (I believe). The YDS had an automix oil system and the carb bodies don't have any 2-stroke specific oil holes, so the bodies should be the same as a 4-stroke carb. I'm thinking switching to a bleed type needle jet should...
