So I need some suggestions. I just got my cb750 running and am having issues with the turn signal switch. I can get them to flash if I hold the switch but if I go all the way and park the switch they just stay on. Is it time for a new switch or do I need to further disassemble it for a more...
Well as I wore you fellow wrenchers out with my cookie cutter cx builds and I have run out of donor bikes in my area I have moved on. This time we will be wrenching on this 95 Nighthawk. I got it for dirt cheap as the seat was shot and the clear was coming off, no worries right?
Well here we go again, this time I was able to score a Custom. Watch out Wrenchmonkees, just kidding. I like the two up seat whenever possible. Tag along if you wish. As loaded onto the trailer.
Once we got home and did a quick garbage run.
So trying to copy this seat pan for a current build and need some help. What are your thoughts on metal thickness on this build? I am of the mind that it is too thin, I am unsure how they are going to attach it and not sure how long it will last being this thin. I have built a couple with 16...
So as I threw in the towel on the 78 GL1000 I am starting a new thread on this 81. This will be a ongoing project as I have in mind to ride this in the summer and tear into it as winter sets in. It does run, yea and has had some upgrades that I would have done to it as time permitted.
So as i sold the two prior cx builds I completed last I was cash flush and in need of another cx build while it was still spring. I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to pick this one up and Sean was kind enough to allow me to deduct gas money and trailer rental from his asking to secure the deal. The...
So i have the front off of the 78 cx500 in order to see what is the ticking noise. I found some crap in the crank case but nothing conclusive. I was hoping it was a stretched oil pump chain but that was not the case. The valve adjustment is spot on. I can't reach the rods to see if they are...
I have a build thread in the cafe section but thinking I would put this over here. I am building the seat pan for a 81 cx500 and am at the pattern stage. Is it ok to make this pan out of metal, form it with foam and have it covered with leather as the factory does?
This is where I am going with...
So I did it, it runs and it runs well thank you VERY much. No noise, no smoke and goes through the gears smoothly. I am going to change it up compared to the other CX build but not by much.
So i got the cb550 running. as you can see it has Carpy headers and stacks as the airbox was gone when I purchased it. out on the freeway it gives me the impression that it has a lean surge. the shop that rebuilt the carbs for me told me the jets were not replaceable. If I were to drill out the...
Question on the coils: The spark plug ends unscrew fron the wires easy peasy, do the wires come out of the coils?
I have one wire on each coil that was cut and then just joined together and I would like to fix this without new coils.
Thanks, Peter
So this will be the third 1978 Honda project I have going at this time. I will do Cafe again but no clubmans on this one, will be two up as the wife will not ride her own.
With spring in the air and my CX500 so close to completion it was time to secure my next project, it is a 1978 CB750. Will the cx500 comstars fit this bike as I prefer them to spokes?
This is my first posting here and my first venture into working on motorcycles. I have built and rebuilt many cars and pickups but due to my current garage situation and a accident with a car I am confined to working on bikes. I caught the bug a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon a listing on...
