    DR350 luggage

Just so I can daydream about actually going places on my DR350, I made a set of saddlebags. I didn't make the tank saddlebags. At $12/pair on amazon, it's not worth the trouble.

    Enhanced paint curing???

I painted a set of hubs and rims a couple days ago with DuPont Nason two stage. I know I won't be able to lace up the wheels for at least a couple of weeks, and was wondering if there would be any benefit to storing the parts up in a nice hot attic till then. Any thoughts from the paint experts?

Ever seen a chain do this?

The chain for the XL250 I'm doing was really rusty, but I was able to get all the links freed up and working pretty smoothly so I thought I'd be able to use it. I gave it a muriatic acid bath, which did a great job of stripping the rust but also revealed this. Almost every link on the chain has...

    '76 XL250 Semi-Restoration

I got this in exchange for doing some work on my wife's nephew's quad. It had been sitting outside for at least a couple of years, but it's mostly complete. My plan for now is just to get it running, take it apart, clean it up and put it back together Rusty and dirty At least the...

    My Dad's Goldwing

This isn't much of a restoration, just a clean it up and get it running. My Dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last August, and although he was in good shape when he died, he had ridden his Goldwing very little in the last few years. When he did ride, he complained that it wasn't running...

    Outside the box seat cowl

I was in Academy Sports the other day and came across these. They're dock bumpers made for pontoon boats but I thought they'd be a nice size and shape for a seat cowl. Dense foam with a rubbery coating. Could be trimmed to fit, glued to a seat pan and probably painted with a vinyl paint. Just...

NGK Iridium IX BR8EIX - Maybe they suck?

Ever since I rebuilt the top end on my 450, I've dealt with some minor tuning problems. Hard starting sometimes and a rough spot just above idle. I've always blamed carburation, because I upgraded the ignition to Dyna coils and NGK Iridium IX BR8EIX plugs (+ new points, condenser and timed with...

    Bad day yesterday (Speeding ticket)

Went out for a little ride yesterday morning and met a cop doing 59 in a 35 zone. In NC that's a manditory court appearance and 30 day suspention of license if convicted. Time to lawyer up I guess :'( CC

    On Any Sunday Revisited

If you like "On Any Sunday" (and who doesn't?) check out "O.A.S. Revisited". You can get it streaming on Netflix. Tons of raw footage that didn't make the movie and recent interviews with Bruce Brown and the AMA racers featured. I enjoyed it as much as O.A.S. Great stuff. CC

Great service from Dime City Cycles

I placed an order for a set of points and condenser for my CB450 with DCC on Friday afternoon. Parts shipped out Saturday and were in my mailbox by noon on Monday. Price was right, shipping cost was very modest and a 10% DDT discount. What more could you ask for? CC

    CB 450 Gremlin

Well this sucks! After about 2200 miles of pretty trouble free riding, yesterday my bike decides to start acting up. I rode to work a couple of times last week with no problems then changed the oil over the weekend. Started out yesterday on a short check out ride and to fill up the tank for the...

    Espresso Love - Accessories

I'm trying to get geared up for the journey to Troy's farm in a couple of weeks and I know I'll need some cargo room. A backpack's not bad for the half hour I ride to work, but would be a pain on the long trip, so I got in touch with my feminine side, broke out the sewing machine and headed for...
