    RC51 rear sets on CB350

yeah if you think you may be removing the clamps down the road, something in between would be a good idea. i didn't put anything in there to protect the tremclad.

    RC51 rear sets on CB350

yeah you should be able to find a brake lever arm on ebay or somewhere for cheap if you're worried about cutting yours up. Once you get one you can make it look as good as you want with a sawzall or hacksaw and bench grinder. i left mine pretty crude because its not a big concern of mine...

    CB550 rearset

yeah I was told that by some folks as well. Maybe some people have had issues with them, but I can only speak for myself. Mine are rock solid. I can stand up and bounce my weight on them, they don't budge. I just finished a full season of riding with them and they worked fine. Of course the...

    CB550 rearset

i got the frame brackets from JP cycle, but you may be able to find them locally depending on where you live. I don't have much for bike shops around here. http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=43e0a922-33d7-473f-ae8a-defa1147f62b I can't remember off-hand what the OD of the Honda...

how to put a cafe seat on a set of curved frame rails?

if you're looking to avoid metal work, fiberglass is always an option. and then you can cut the edges of the pan to follow your frame rails. There are a bunch of threads on here about how to make a fiberglass seat, here is a couple pics of mine: Good luck and ask questions, lots of help...

    CB 750 Rearsets?

I'm not 100% sure you could use frame clamps, but its worth considering. I used them to mount some rearsets on my 550 about a month ago and they've been working awesome. Here is a couple pics:

    cb500 almost complete

Hey that looks great! Not sure if you've tried it yet, but you could always drop the front an inch and mount your clip ons above the upper tree. that might make it more comfortable with the bars higher. I'd probably toss the chain guard too, but it looks good either way.

    my cb550 project

I wasn't sure about the strength of the fiberglass so I added a couple metal brackets for support, its rock solid now. I also added a Dyna S ignition and some shorty shocks that I snagged on kijiji for a great price. Its nice to finally be able to put my feet flat on the ground at stop...

Hey guys, i've been sorta side tracked but figure its about time I update this project thread. Since my last post I've gotten alot closer to completion. This is a shot of the seat before I hit it with some bondo. Getting the seat rounded without any grooves or low spots turned out to be...

Alloy Aluminum Cafe Boat tails on eBay

So I just saw this post and figured I'd send this dude an email. I asked about a seat for a cb550 and he replied in German. "Hallo, wenn Sie mir die Maße angeben kann ich Ihnen einen Höcker für eine cb 550 anfertigen. Der Preis liegt bei 169 Euro incl. Versandkosten. Gruß Markus Marburger" I...

    my cb550 project

Well I got my hands on some more linkage ends and hooked up the rear brake today. I used oldog's idea of hooking up the pedal to the old brake lever. It looks sorta ghetto with the hacked up brake pedal, but as long as it works its fine with me. ;D I used the spring from the original...

    my cb550 project

Cool man, thanks for the tips. I ended up taking another go at it yesterday before I saw this, so I didn't have a chance to try the dip method, but it went better anyways. I went to an autobody supply shop for my supplies this time and the difference was HUGE. The 3M matting they sold was way...
