I have that DCC for my 750, and I love it. Mounting it was a pain in the ass though. For the 550, I went for a steel seat from HOF and had them provide the upholstery as well. I really like the way that one's turning out. If I did it again, I'd go with the steel for both projects.

That's the case on most - if not all - bikes. When the engine isn't running and there's no load on the clutch, you should be able to transition between gears without using the clutch.

I'd take it to your local machine shop and have them mill it down. Really fast and not very expensive. You'll end up with a much smoother finish than if you grind it yourself. I had it done to the 550 top clamp, and it turned out really nice.

I use copper spray on every one of my engine gaskets. Two thin coats seem to keep the good smoke in.
