Bought a supermoto. Have I forsaken cafe?

Quack! :D I should put that in tiny vinyl letters on the headlight. I am not a huge fan of the lights either, but what the hey, as long as they work well. If not, I have a Buell XB setup on my other bike that will probably land there. The thing behind the light, by the bars is a Vapor...

Bought a supermoto. Have I forsaken cafe?

Maybe not. I think there is some wiggle room in the deal I made with the wife. Really though, there is too many bikes here. Some of them will have to go. I bought a 2005 DRZ400SM yesterday, and it will be delivered this weekend. Guess what else will be delivered this weekend? Yeah, more rotten...

Anybody used SCC Parcel Pickup in Port Huron ?

I know a DTT member who would gladly accept packages here in MI, and could deliver them across the border, though I don't know how much cheaper it would be, as he is in Lansing with me. He has a truck. Griff something or another. Just spoke to him last night.

    Fuck, Harley stole my look!

I thought for sure that was you, until I realized it was a harley. I guess I am slow.

    Honda Speedometer mods

Is there any way to get the speedo shut again after opening it up? I had one from one of my bikes that was badly dented, glass scratched, etched, basically a real POS. So I opened it up, played with it, cleaned it up a bit to see if I could. Having done that, it appears there is no way to get...

    CB350 build..

Holy smokes! that's certainly "barn fresh". :D I like the paint scheme on the tank, are you keeping it, or planning on another color? Gotta say, you have your work cut out for you. The 250 motor looks a lot like the 350, I have to wonder how much difference there really is.

Carbon fiber parts for your cafe?

Heh! I will pass on the suggestions! Me, I stay out of it. I can't even paint, forget laying up parts. My wife gets the whole thing, but it's all greek to me.

Carbon fiber parts for your cafe?

A good friend of mine lost his job a few months ago, and since then he has been getting set up to make his own parts. He's a mechanical engineer, so I figure he knows best. ;D I made some suggestions to him, side covers, fenders, cafe seats. He's considering them. My wife is also an engineer...

What forks to use on CL350?

PM sent! Do you think the CL350 fender will bolt up to the fork? My wife is working on a carbon fiber unit for it. If it doesn't go on this bike, it will just go on the other though.

    $50 mod thread

Ah, good old Rustoleum hammered. It's pretty good, I like Hammerite in it's place mostly though. I used to use that a lot on my Jeep, it's really durable. After that, it's POR-15. Really tough stuff. :o

What forks to use on CL350?

I bought a basketcase CL350 (two actually) to play with, because I wanted to keep my first one intact, at least for this year. I pulled the forks today, and found that they are really really REALLY rusty. :o And the front wheel was missing anyway, so I think maybe I should just try to find some...

    Hillsy's GS450 project

Wow, looks fantastic so far. I don't know why, but I kind of liked the other tank. I can't wait til I can go dig around in the salvage shops bins again. They put them all away for the winter, and brought out the snowmobile stuff. Boooooo....

    Finally, souperman's CB500T Project

Wow, good job. I kind of dig the air tubes, is there a small filter element in the end of them? I agree about the clubmans, they look really long! Keep up the good work.

How do you clean a motor before painting it?

Wow, good suggestion about the acid. I might give it a shot. I trad climb mostly, but since I am in Michigan, I have to travel about 8 hours to get to any trad climbing. I will go to Red River Gorge a couple of times per year, probably starting next month. This has gone completely off the...

How do you clean a motor before painting it?

Had you nearly to a T there didn't I Joe? :D Since we are sharing so much, I am the type of person who would do well to stay well away from the ring. Defective from the start, rock climbing and snowboarding is about as close to extreme exertion as I get. A good buddy of mine has in the past...
