1973 XL175 Vitamin C Hell Ride

Re: 1973 XL175 Orange Soda Hell Ride

I have a line on an XL350 motor. If I get it, it will be for another frame. There is nothing here that I didn't already expect. XB told me early on about these 175's and I knew it. It's all an exercise. I'll just keep building them. #itsartmuthafucka

Re: 1973 XL175 Orange Soda Hell Ride

Just finished installing the Keyster carb kit and it has solved our throttle issues. The more miles I put on it, the more everything settles in.

We are in go mode. Time for some trails...

Not much beats a light bike... Enjoy the smell of leaves and dirt.

Re: 1973 XL175 Orange Soda Hell Ride

This thing may not wow with power, but it handles the mud and moguls pretty well. Must... get... bigger... foot pegs...

On the SC side of the Savannah. There are all kinds of OHV trails, service roads, gravel roads and such in Sumter National Forest. That pic is at the Fury's Ferry Boat Ramp.

Cool....thanks.

So you can ride up there w/o registration?

My little cb100 won't be tagged for a while.

Re: 1973 XL175 Orange Soda Hell Ride

That's a good question. I'm running with tags. The OHV trails are closed until March. The season runs from the last Friday in March until the first Monday after January 1. The gravel roads have SR designations, so they're legal to run just like any other state road. Some are pretty washed out, so they're just about as good as trails.

Re: 1973 XL175 Orange Soda Hell Ride

Thanks......I'll have to check it out one of these days.

Gotta go to Aiken this week to pickup some parts at AMSS.

What are you getting at AMSS that you can't get at Street and Trail in Evans? Just curious if they're a better option. I'm in Aiken twice a week to teach at USC-AIken.

Parts for my Hondas......they usually have more parts on hand than S&T.

S&T always have to order. I've even gotten parts from the Suzuki place on Peach Orchard.

Since that tail section is all nasty and dirty... you will probably just make a new one right? Just so you know, I am a hoarder and would take that old junk off your hands... you know, just so its not cluddering up your shop :)
