awesome ad, if there were an Olympics for campy goodness, this ad would get nothing but gold!

Re: 1972 Kawasaki G4TR 100cc bucket racer project

never in my iife would i personally rather know about my turn signal's status in lieu of my oil pressure status.
thats just me i like my engines and dont have turn signals on my bikes....
but it i did i would just glance at them to see if they were flashing. and have an oil pressure sensor.

That is the best advert I have ever seen. Period.

i concur.

not doing a new piston would be dumb. that thing looks long past its life. new piston plus hone/ if it needs it bore should do the motor great.

Re: 1972 Kawasaki G4TR 100cc bucket racer project

Awesome!

After discussions with bob and seeing so many awesome inspiration bikes I have decided I will invest the money in getting one of those very cool looking thin and long tanks.

It will cost money but it will look great. I will just use the small brushed tank for testing purposes probably.

Good call man. Call up Sean at RocCity. Hes a member here. AMAZING alloy custom made tanks!

If you keep an eye on ebay, sometimes some interesting tanks show up on there too. Just last week I missed out on a sweet plastic tank.
But RCC does churn out some amazing tanks.

The Kwak in that last pic is running the cb350 drum like I PMed you about. I'll get some pics of it for you tomorrow.

Re: 1972 Kawasaki G4TR 100cc bucket racer project

Yeah, go for a larger drum at all costs - I had my bike up to 70km/h when I had a quick (and very illegal) test ride on the way back from getting a new chain. The brakes worked reasonably well up to that speed but I'm not very keen to be using them any higher.

Unfortunately, I may have to as my race date is fast approaching.

Go hell for leather man! - boingk

$376 from Airtech. Replica Honda CR110 tank. Hard to find these thin and long tanks for 100's.

Thoughts?

I like! Will it fit the Kwaka?

Re: 1972 Kawasaki G4TR 100cc bucket racer project

I am finding out the fitting sizes for it now, hopefully it does!

I think the main problem is the shape of the kawy frame and how it slopes down. I will need to weld some sort of extension onto the current frame to make the tank and seat fittings more horizontally correct.

Re: 1972 Kawasaki G4TR 100cc bucket racer project

That tank is killer brother. It would look great on that Kawi...

Re: 1972 Kawasaki G4TR 100cc bucket racer project

Looks like a fun project and even more fun bike when it's done. Local Yamaha dealer in his boredom did one of these, but I think it was a 50cc. I'll try to pass by there and take a photo for you. Good luck and keep the photos coming.
