1975 CB400F Project "Replacement Girlfriend"

Come on man keep up with my build thread! ;)

From what I can tell the 400f is exclusive to the 400f sadly

I made my own today from some scrap sheet aluminum I had laying around:

Fabbed up a little license plate bracket.
This seems to be the position I hate the least.
I absolutely hate having a plate. Ruins the whole rear of the bike.

I agree with you on that one.. I will probably do that exact placement. Its the least in the way place. It tucks it in better than the others.. Unless I think it will look good under the seat some how, its going next to the wheel vertically.

Sweet project! How are you liking the kenda challengers? Also, did you convert the front to tubeless? It seems all the challenger front tires I find say they are not tube type

Hey I totally missed this post!
Im sorry man.

I feel like the kendas have good grip but i really cant tell much because the retarded PO but a 130 tire on the stock rim. So all I can feel is that huge ass tire squishing around back there.
Ill be replacing them soon hopefully when funds allow.

And they are tubed, you can run a tube in a non tube tire, just not vice verse ;)

So heres my wiring setup for the running/brake/blinkers:
The Top Led's are running lights (they are actually in the same housing on the bike)

The flasher basically causes the relay to switch from the NC position to the NO position, causing the brake light on that side to cut out at 1hz. (effectively acting as a blinker)

SO my question is this:
Does anyone see a way to make the running lights blink with the flasher as well? At present the blinkers only work when i'm on the brakes which isnt a huge issue, but it would be nice to have them working all the time.

Making tons of progress!
not

all I have done is put a little LED bolt thing on my license plate mount. Works a treat. Ran the wiring up through the shock springs, so we shall see if that works out.

Called to see if my seat is ready yet and got "well my dad died last week so I havent done it yet"
So theres that.
It sucks, i completely understand of course but damn I want my seat so I can ride this beast.

Took it up the street today and decided to peg it out. 1st gear all the way up to 10.5K and she pulled hard. I dont know what stock redline is.
I think my clutch is getting better. It was new so maybe its breaking in? I still feel it slip if i really crank the throttle back from a slow roll.

FINALLY

It came out pretty much exactly how I wanted. I would have liked a little lower profile I think but hey it's more comfy for my ass this way. I'm very please with the look.

The side covers will probably get a quick rattle can job black for this season and then she will be done until winter!

Nice one 8) no more sore rump riding the beast ;D and you found another side cover ;)

Yup my ass is quite pleased!
And I got I side cover from Steve over on sohc4.net

Have a few beers and you might not notice the difference haha

Seat and rear hoop look classy as hell! Nice one!

Might be somewhere earlier in the thread, but did you just chop up the stock front fender? I took mine off but am worried about instability so I was thinkin of choppin it up and throwin it back on...

Thanks man!
And yeah the front fender is stock chopped.
I think I cut about 4" off the front and 2" off the back.
And I'm going to lower it at some point, it sits a big high for my taste
