Re: 71 Indignant CB175 - Finally A Roller!
Well I haven't gotten a chance today to mess with the clutch further...but I did get a lot done. Let me start with the bonehead thing I did Friday...
I was messing around with the rear brake, trying to get it installed correctly. I had the brake arm on the hub pointing down and in that capacity the rod was "pushing", since I had to have the rearset lever arm pointing down as well. Since it needed to "pull" I had to remove the hub and rotate the shaft so that I could mount the arm upward, and in turn put the rearset lever arm back up. Did that, and everything was fine until this.
My brake rod didn't come with a "straight" bend in it. So what do I do, I put it in my vise and tried to bend it...
...and snapped the threads off. But all was not lost. I got a hold of a friend that I had met with a machine shop. Went over there this morning and we were able to drill out the rod and thread in a identically threaded bolt.
I also had him machine a couple small parts for me as well. The final result is a fully functional rear brake assembly.

If anyone remembers, this is the same guy that I had meet at the local Ducati Bike Night a while back. He rides a '66 Ducati 250. So I must give a intermission for some snapshots of his gorgeous bike.
He has made a very high percentage of this bike himself, from the triple tree to the rearsets, completely by hand. And what an exceptionally stunning bike. The tank and tail are carbon fiber, that he formed and made!

Ok, so back to the work today. The shifter linkage is all set up.
And finally...drum roll please....I finished the wiring.
I'll get it installed on the bike sometime this week.
Thanks for looking!
