Had the most fun I've had working on a bike in a long time today, fabbing up the exhaust! I have to say it has ended up looking A LOT like Chris' stainless exhaust. Now that wasn't my intent, though I did take inspiration from him. But when you're using J-bends and tubing and the same collector that he designed and had Columbia river make for him and they now sell it, well at the end of the day there's only so much you can do. :
Thanks Chris! Hope you don't mind. :-*
My buddy Mark is going to Tig it all together for me.
nice work, make sure you plan a spot for a hanger towards the rear, and make sure it's rubber isolated, the 360 will vibrate enough to crack a solid exhaust hanger
Need some parts fellas, looking for a decent clutch cover, the two we have are both effed up. one has a broken bolt hole and the other is gouged through the logo.
also need a set of rocker arms and a cam tensioner and guide in good nick. ($80 from western hills is too steep)
Looks like Kiley's hookin me up with all but the tensioner and guide!! Sweet!
Re: 74 and 75 CB360 tracker - need a few bits and pieces.
Any chance ya wanna shoot me a price for an exhaust like that for a 350, sans the muffler? Actually its a bit different than that one in my head, BUT id love to run a M.M. custom exhaust on my tracker 350 project thats coming up...
Re: 74 and 75 CB360 tracker - need a few bits and pieces.
Hey wicked cool! Love to work up an exhaust. I got the pipes back this week and they look really good! My buddy Mark tigged em and he did a nice job. It had been a while since he had tigged so the welds aren't absolutely perfect but they look really good. I also started painting. Its been mostly practicing trying to dial in my guns and technique but its coming. I will get over to the shop today and get some pics. Oh, We determined that we need to over bore the cylinders so the pistons arrived for that this week and that stuff will be headed to the machine shop this week.
Re: 74 and 75 CB360 tracker - need a few bits and pieces.
Okay, not a whole lot to report with pictures other than the seat pan is made.
molded it right on the frame so it fits perfectly. I'm holding it up with my finger as there is no rubber bumper up there yet.
mounted some bolts into the glass, these will secure the seat to the frame. I'll probably just use a strip of velcro at the front to keep that secure.
This will be going to upholstery this week.
Pictures of the paint didn't come out so you'll have to wait on that. Suffice to say that I'm satisfied with the guns and the paint and will be spraying the frame this week. Then I can reassemble the chassis and we'll just be waiting on the top end of the motor to come back from machining. Hopefully a runner by early March.
Re: 74 and 75 CB360 tracker - seat pan done, about ready to paint!
Alright fellas, Just about done painting the frame and bits. I actually had a pro painter friend coming in tonight to supervise the painting of the frame itself. It took a long time to get a handle on the paint, but everything looks really good. I'll wait on pics til I get the chasis back together.
Re: 74 and 75 CB360 tracker - seat pan done, about ready to paint!
Finally making some progress again on the build here. I go the frame painted and the wheels built and have started reassembling the chasis. I also started body work on the tank.
I found a woman locally who gives sewing and upholstery lessons and I'm going in next week to have her walk me through the seat cover. should turn out pretty cool.
Re: 74 and 75 CB360 tracker - Coming back together. Wheels built.
I think the light is 4"? I got it from dcc so you can check their website out. The wheels came out great and I'm LOVING the beefier front end. long way to go yet but the fun stuff has begun! The tires 4.10" X18 both front and rear. I laced a wider rim onto the front hub to handle it.
Re: 74 and 75 CB360 tracker - Coming back together. Wheels built.
Thanks guys. I got a little semi when I picked the wheels up from having the tires mounted today. I'm focusing on the tins over the next few days. I need to get the motor built too. lots to do.
Maritime - any time brother! We've got a good crew here and would love to have you hang with us a bit. I'm working on a mods vs rockers meet here at the end of July too so keep that in mind.
