Just read the thread and holy hell that was quite the build. It has got to feel good to call something actually "done"

thanks for checking her out. I think this is like the 15th time I have actually called her "done"...but this time I think its for real.

I was just getting ready to write on your post.

Re: 76 CB360, I think my bike is finished.

It's only 'DONE' until the next time you think of something 'neat' to do ;)
May last a few years if your lucky ;D
You will end up with another bike, simply because you'll want to ride while doing the mods although getting burned out is where I'm at ::) )

thanks for checking her out PJ...But, how come when YOU type the word "neat" it sorta just feels like what you really mean is "silly"?
....maybe its your english accent. LOL HA, Hilarious!!!

Re: 76 CB360, I think my bike is finished.

With the dumb stuff I do, if I say silly it usually means just plain dumb (when I'm being 'nice')
Part of the reason I only have one bike 'done', I keep changing things on the others when I find something or think of something 'neat' (I keep accumulating parts to use 'sometime' ::) )
Guess it's my OCD ;D

Re: 76 CB360, I think my bike is finished.

Those pipes came out nice....I like them...

Re: 76 CB360, I think my bike is finished.

Good job Trek. :D I hope to join you someday with "my bike is finished". ;)

Re: 76 CB360, I think my bike is finished.

thanks guys, that means alot coming from you two.

Its funny that I really wasn't in the mindset of getting it done. I have pretty much been riding her the whole time. Coming up w ideas and changes. Working and riding as I go. Until I was sitting in the chair staring at her, as usual.

And it pops into my head. Wow, Thats IT ?!?! there is nothing left to do now. I have incorporated ALL my ideas.

So, I guess I finished by accident. Love it or hate it, She is as rock solid as a 360 can be, not a high performance based build. But she rides and drives good and is a bunch of fun for zipping around.

I have a couple minor things to do...small heat shields on the pipes and some other tweaks here and there.

Thanks for looking.

She's old. You may be done with your ideas, but she is always going to need some TLC.

After all the work oil changes and tune ups will be easy, but necessary. But that's what these lovely old bikes are all about. They aren't appliances and need your attention regularly.

Weather finally permitted a ride and a couple decent pics.

Damn... she's got a nice look from the back side.

WOW, thanks bud. and thanks for all your help over the years.

I generally don't like cafe type bikes but yours is one I do. You kept fenders and fork braces, and still have a tough looking, rideable bike.

The colors and work let everyone know the amount of effort that went into it

You stayed away from cliche exhaust yet kept it custom

One of the better executions

Nice !!

thanks so much bud. I am very pleased w how things have turned out. My favorite part of the bike is the seat. w 2 inches of silicone gel. Butt comfort is the last thing on my mind. And even still with my limited experience. I dont need that distraction. I have no idea how the guys w 1/2 inch of nothing deal with that.

I know I still refer to it as a brat style. It has evolved into about 95% cafe. A guy once coined it as an "Outlaw Cafe" I am kinda liking that.

I know I said it was done. And like PJ said...until I think of something else "neat" to do...I was just sitting in the garage wondering...maybe I could get away with 1 inch of silicon gel...and make a proper electronics tray under the seat. Lowering the seat, 1-1/2 inches would make it more comfy yet...But wait, then lowering the rear sets would be a must...etc...etc.

Re: 76 CB360, Re-labled...Outlaw Cafe.

You all know I hate 'the back end fell off look' but yours doesn't have it?
I guess it's because you extended the swing arm but didn't go crazy plus you did fit a rear mudguard which extends behind seat.
The exhaust looks pretty good. I was wondering about mounting rear plate in same position as yours, I kinda like the look of it ;)

Sooo...It kinda sounds like you are admitting you like it?..without actually coming right out and saying , you like it! LOL.

I think it one of those machines, you either love it or you hate it. OR maybe...

You love TO hate it...or hate TO love it.

Anyway A HUGE thanks to you PJ. She wouldnt be half the bike she is without your endless supply of patience and helping.

I would mount the plate vertically, alot of guys do that in Illinois. Never heard of anyone getting busted, just for the plate. However, if for some reason a guy does get pulled over for speeding (whatever). They will write a ticket for the vertical plate on top of whatever else they got.

I did mine vertical, I know I'm not supposed to... But I figure I can play dumb at least once. :)
