Haha the thing is, I bought some of that HF shrink tube, and my little shop is so messy that I can't find it. There will be a major cleaning done before I so much else on this bike. Ridesolo saw the mess first hand today, it's quite the disaster lol

I have some interesting wiring bits in my work shop. Stuff I save from mining equipment coming back for rebuilds. If ya need anything, let me know.

Haha I did, like you said, had to get it up to get it outta the way =)

Hmm in 96 I would have been... 6 years old haha. I'm still bummed that I didn't get the dust, but it did retain the aroma of whatever cigars frequent your shop=) I think I'll be able to get Netflix on the ol booger. I will probably just go inside to eat and sleep now haha

Yup, bought that when I arrived in Dayton after leaving Fairbanks. Mrs said she was going out to clean it off before bringing it down to you and I told her I had promised the dust would go with it... that got me a pretty dirty look. Avanti cigars, yup pretty distinctive! Usually it's not bad in there, but things have been closed up a lot lately. You'd better go in more than that, your Mrs is really gunna' hate me!

I have a deadline now. Gotta be done before the meltdown show in the end of April. Should be doable, just gotta quit getting distracted

Bought a set of the obligatory Avon Roadriders. They were out of Firestone champion deluxe in the right size =p getting them mounted up Monday.

Nice looking tires. How did the piston clearance work out for you hurco ?
I've only done a quick test fire, haven't actually run it yet. I'm pretty confident that it won't be an issue

Lol I know what your saying, I gave it a stout yet controlled shake test. Didn't wanna move so I figured it's all good. Getting the tires on today so it should be sticking it back on its own shoes tonight

And thanks, but those signals are new lol unless I break em haha

Working on cleaning the tank out. Did several mixes of hot soapy water to knock loose stuff out with a length of chain. It was still pretty disgusting.

Found a 1 3/4" boat plug to block the filler hole. Its close in size, but I couldn't quite get it to expand enough by just turning the nut without spinning the whole thing...

so I popped a few holes in it so I could use a spanner wrench for an angle grinder to hold the washer while I tightened the nut..

made a stainless block off for the petcock side. Luckily the petcock rebuild kit had an extra gasket in it that I am using for the block off plate.

pretty heavy rust on the inside, but the tank is pretty nice all in all, so here goes

Picked up a gallon of rust remover bath from menards. sunnyside brand. Ive got it soaking with a chain in it for agitation. I believe its acid based, so I will need to clean it with a baking soda/ water mix when its done to neutralize the acid. then the plan is a denatured alcohol slosh then a coating of 2 stroke oil. sound right to you tank cleaning gurus?

I use phosphoric acid on mine to convert the rust. Otherwise we are on the same page.

Got fuel. Got spark. (Finally) got compression. Won't run. I'm sad. Tomorrow is a new day. Maybe there will be a fresh batch of MOJO then.
