Montadero Fork restoration. The Montadero has two fork seals per side but we are replacing them with one larger one that Lynn Mobley sent us. Stripping cleaning, metal rescue the fork springs etc

The Count Mount Zeke's El Montadero 360

Everything is cleaned and sanded for installing Bultaco Montadero fork seals. Zeke is behind the camera again so y'all may want to take a Dramamine first LOL. The forks are 35mm so you can use 1 1/2" PVC as a fork seal driver. http://youtu.be/WYvlXT5naE4

This is what the lower Bultaco fork tube looked like after striping the clear coat and the silver paint off the lower fork tube.

that is great and definitely the way to do it. I don't think the soda blasters are working too well in Texas at the moment. We got Mom a power washer for Mothers Day. Used it this weekend and said to myself "why didn't I get one of these 3 years ago when she asked for it?"

more good news about our road racing Montadero! Lynn just told me we could use our same 35mm forks. He said to take the dampener apart and add a 2-3" piece of PVC and Voila road race forks!

Re: The Count Mount Zeke's El Montadero 360

pretty easy to figure fork travel, i woont go less than 5" usable travel
if it dont steer quick enough you can always de-rake the frame but just willy nilly dropping the front 3" with the result of only 3" travel, will upset the balance, fr-back in my hoe and leave with the only option of overly stiff front springing
build the thing and test ride it before shortening the forks you need to have a baseline to compare to

the Bostrom's told us that they intentionally bent their forks for bettering steering and when tech asked them about it they said "we ran into the wall" lol

the bostrom brothers are certainly great riders but this shows they dont understand what is going on with steering geometry

i don't think they did it but maybe a crew chief did ;)

bending the forks back in theory will shorten the wheelbase but increase trail which may actually improve steerring by slowing it down thinking about the dynamic of the trail changing in a different way thru suspension travel than with straight forks gave me a headache, fooker :-\ :)

Xb33bsa we watched your videos...that two stroke chain saw looks highly modified???any additional piston porting? Also your BSA sounds sweet...you are a very interesting guy. We would love to hear your story..

the saws yeh gearbox cut off just a crankcase like a sno machine motor
dennis has eddie sanders do his porting and pipe design specs, then dennis builds the pipes and sets the squish
i haven't been involved with the saws for years but they are a hoot
