wow they do look like the same manufacturer! I was looking for the header for the m51 and called up Lynn and he had an M70 header. Called me back about 10 minutes later and said I have this expansion chamber scrambler hanging next to the M70 header that is for an M51! Bought it sight unseen. Didn't even ask the condition. Call us Lucky!

Now how do we pack this thing?

Re: The Count Mount Zeke's El Montadero 360

Do you really want to know about expansion chambers by Gordon Jennings. Part 2 is very interesting.

Jennings put the stock Yamaha DT-1 on the dyno and it only delivered 15.86 hp of the advertised 21 bhp.

Jennings expansion chamber pipe, Webco Head, ported, and shortened piston 45% increase in power over the stock to 22 Also tested vintage expansion chamber pipes with the Webco head: "The Hooker expansion chamber delivered 19.36 bhp, at 7000 rpm. Torque Engineering's chamber came in with 19.49 bhp, also at 7000 rpm; the MCM chamber gave us 18.10 bhp @ 6500 rpm; and the Strader Engineering chamber, 18.93 bhp @ 7000 rpm. We also tried the Yamaha GYT- kit and MX expansion chambers, gave 19.79 and 19.36 bhp, respectively- both at 6500 rpm."

yamaha with a similar vintage expansion chamber compared to the after market bultaco expansion chamber. More vintage expansion chambers pictures here http://www.chinonthetank.com/2014/03/yamaha-at-ct-dt-rt/

well Yamaha sure did...very interesting article on the "optimization" of the expansion chamber. Going to dissect this the Bultaco pipe and look at it compared to Jennings calculations and get a hold of the bandido and compare it. Also we are going to the Dyno and compare all three.

The interesting part is what all the aftermarket pipes did to the Yamaha stock head. Talk about blowing up engines!

Also it is so important to have the right amount of Squish in your life ;)

does Graham Sheet Metal sound familiar for your expansion chamber?

nope......it doesn't ring a bell yuk yuk 8)
called Lynn Mobley about ours and he said he thought it was made by Graham Sheet Metal. He said he sold a lot of there product from his Bultaco dealership in California. I found a Graham Sheet Metal and Motorcycle Accessories that was in business in North Hollywood California starting in 1972. http://www.corporationwiki.com/California/North-Hollywood/graham-sheet-metal-motorcycle-accessories-inc/39871374.aspx
