Bike is looking really clean. Nice job.

Re: Cafe' CB200 - Silver Bullet - Putting It Back Together

I love seeing the little bikes. Beautiful job so far mate. Black with shiny simple and elegant.

Re: Cafe' CB200 - Silver Bullet - Putting It Back Together

Looking sweet - keep um comin' !!

Re: Cafe' CB200 - Silver Bullet - Putting It Back Together

Thanks Guys! :D

I should have the special order bolts in by this Friday ( I hope ). And until then I'll be throwing the carbs back on, exhaust etc etc. I aslo took a closer look at my stock seat last night, and realized how inlayed the hinges are on the stock seat, so I shouldn't have a problem incorporating them into a glass seat. I want to make them interchangeable, so that should work. I also have my eye on this really sweet LED brake light at a local cycle shop.

whats up 904cafe?
your build is looking good. I am currently building a 175 cafe 1973.
hoping to post some pics soon.
any way, need to ask some questions..
when you put the clubman bars on what throttle and cable did you use, for brake side aswell?????
my cables and wires go into the bars aswell....
also what are you thinking about for the rearsets?????
for the shift side i saw some guys rotating the foot lever around tawards the rear of the bike and using the rear foot peg..
but for the brake side not sure..
also love those tires, they look awsome what make are they?????? and how wide is that rear tire??? i have a bf-goodrich 4.00
i believe it is as wide as they come on a 17 inch rim..
well man great build and talk later, keep the pics coming...
thanks....

Re: Cafe' CB200 - Silver Bullet - Putting It Back Together

Happy New Year!!!

cb200run.jpg

next is to get rid of that ugly tail light assembly... have a few ideas, i guess we'll see...

to answer your questions supercafe...
i used all the stock cables and wires with my clubmans I just ran the wires on the outside of the bars
rearsets... not sure yet, may not even go that route
tires... they are MAXXIS ProMax Front- 100/90/18 (tad wide, cant run a fender) Rear- 110/90/18

Thanks Man!

No ride for the girl yet, I wanna make sure it's running pristine before I try any long rides or passenger rides. It's one thing to get stranded on the side of the road by yourself, another to have an upset FEMALE passenger.

That's great that she's up and running! Anything you need to tweek after the test ride?

I'm gonna go on another run here maybe tonight and pull the plugs right afteward to see how its running. It doesn't bog or anything... The clutch def needs to be adjusted a bit. It has a little creep when in 1st gear and the clutch is engaged.

More to come...
brake light / plate holder
glass seat

Excellant work, 904!!! It looks fantastic!! Right now the XS650 is in pieces in the garage getting new steering head bearings, but keep a eye out for an old man on a white Beemer and I''ll do the same for a young skinny kid on a silver Honda. Hope to see you along Ft. Caroline Rd. sometime.

hay 904cafe,
thanks for the help, hope to get my bars soon.
how does that exhuast sound???should sound awsome!
i my self am running dual straight pipes. hope it sounds as good as the two in one's!
trying to post some pics but having trouble doing so, eventually will get them up.
one more question/// what throttle did you use, was told that any thing honda from 72 to 75 with
an external cable would work??????
any way thanks for the help!!
bikes looking good!
later

Congratulations! That thing looks fantastic! I'll be running the same tank. I didn't realize what it was from until Patricke9 told me that it is from a cb200. I really like the pipes and the white wrap. I was going to do white on mine, but my son gave me bronze for christmas. Oh well. By the looks of the shock she might be running a little rich?? Anyway, very cool bike!!

WOW!! That looks great.......believe it or not, I just scored the exact same bike, same color and all and have been tearing into it for a few days now.....I gotta post some pics and start my own topic on it, but wanted to say "Thanks for the inspiration to get off the computer and go work on my bike"

That bike came out perfect. Seriously. Well, I probably would have used black exhaust wrap, but it doesn't detract too much from the increadible job. Well done. You should take your lady for a ride.

Thanks guys! ;D Still a lot more I wanna do... UNFORTUNATELY school has started back up for me, which means a major Slow Down on everything... I'll keep ya posted on any new updates though!

WOW it's looking great! 8)

My CB200 will look a lot like that as well and I've pondered whether I want to go with a CL style high pipe w/shorty cone tips or not.

I may go with stock head pipes, put on an extension and bolt up some up-swept cone tips? OR stock head pipes with a crossover tube and turn it into a 2 into 1? Or Ducati(?) MH900 style high backs that put them on either side of the tail.
Lots of possibilities on the exhaust routing.

What I do know is I'm keeping the stock silver metallic style paint.

For the seat tail I think I will go with a pre-made Manx style seat or a tail cut from the rear half of a junk CB 200/400T fuel tank. O know where there is one for cheap that's rusted through on the bottom.

After doing the all metal seat on my Hodaka it and with all the work the CB is going to take it would be kinda nice to not have to put a lot of time and effort into the seat. Almost ever component on the CB is going to have to be rebuilt/refurbished jsut to get it where it needs to be. :(

Looks awesome - I really like how it turned out & love the cl pipes

Great minds think alike :) Planning on doing the same to this 200 as soon as it warms up in the garage a bit:
