"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

You do seem to spend a lot of time cruising CL for this stuff.

Ever since I came on here you have done no more than whine about race baiting.

Your turn... I am aware of my ability to be an asshole, it's a given... my wife reminds me when I start to forget so you can leave that out... ???

Yes, that's the point. I look at CL for projects and when I find something egregious I post it here. As ABCanuck said, that's the point of this thread. I contribute to a lot of other threads too, offering advice, asking questions, giving kudos, just like most others here. I don't, however, spend near the amount of time you do on here based on your profile.

Still hurt about being called out for writing racist shit? It seemed like you learned from that one. Maybe not.

You can defend a piece of shit bike who's owner admits it's dangerous and he didn't know what he was doing, but seriously, that thing is not safe and not functional. Not everyone has the same taste in bikes, and people are free to do whatever the hell they want, but since old bikes are trendy or whatever right now, there are a lot of squids who have no idea what they're doing. If you were an 18-year-old idiot, wouldn't you want to know why something isn't right?

And if you're going to be an asshole, don't order any more parts from me through your wife's paypal acct, OK?

I should add -- can we get back to the topic at hand?

The video is cute, but those bikes are not puppies mang... so many thousands of motorcycles to destroy and most would have sat in a PRISON called the garage or barn to rot... I love all of those whacky conversions... why? Because it got someone off the I-phone or X-Box and in the toolbox.

What is it that concerns you? The bike was destroyed and you cant save it? Or you wish you could have it for your selfish self? I don't like the Flinstone tires either but do we really think Firestone could sell them with no rating? I mean they are not for the track or speed rated for the R1 are they? These bikes represent a passion for someone to have something they made themselves and you want to take that away? What an insult to the real artists and inspired professionals who probably started with similar cobbled together old motorbikes... Failure is the first step to success guys, it's rarely the other way around.

I think you are wound a bit tight mr. fish ... the video is just a parody of this thread. But you knew that already.
Right man(g) ?

Yes and YES! I did, I had to take advantage to make my point (sorry) the video was like my intro ;D

Tuna, it's kind of the point of the thread. Chicken isn't alone in his bashing. I'd say if you don't care for it, stay away from the thread. Some of the nitpicking drives me nuts too but I stay because sometimes cool stuff pops up. Cheers.

Yeah, I know... I visit it frequently because of the cool stuff also, my problem (not really a problem) with the chicken is the relentless negativity and disapproval for most everything that does not fit the mold. XB33 and even myself contribute to the "your doing it wrong" speak, but dang man!!

You are right though, I will refrain from visiting the thread... maybe I should give the whole DTT thing up, my stress is high enough as it is. And yeah yeah yeah... I know... "don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you" bla bla bla ::) Maybe I just document my work and SHUDUP LOL

You do realize the Firestone Deluxe Champion sold today is not made or sold by Firestone?

Okay fellas, everybody is a winner. There's a trophy for every builder in the world.

Back to the show....

Here is a brilliant piece of performance engineering. 150 hours of work and an amazing suspension. My favorite way to build a hardtail...

This is not middle school sports... is it? I say we bash the builds right here on DTT? I certainly have some stuff that falls in line

There's a fair amount of that too. Fortunately, it's paired with advice or demands to do it another way. My 360 build is full of tough love from XB and PJ.

At least he never mentioned it was a "cafe". That strut is weird because it is only on one side of the bike. If you wanted a hardtail just use solid struts in place of the shocks, but to leave the shocks there makes no sense. It's not like you can remove the strut and have suspension of more than 1/2". Called him to ask about it but got voice mail.
I don't get it when they brag about how special the build was and they turn around and sell it right away. If I build one I build it to ride. There's no money in just building and selling them unless you work for free.

That's rich man... ;D

Sure thing though man, I wont snipe your eBay sales with my wife's "cdevine41" (and mine) account anymore either by buying things here... My wife set that up when she was doing the accounting for our company back when PayPal started up with eBay so we could sell a nice Cat skidsteer to get a new one lol ... Didn't figure I need my name on it too sense we plan to stay married for another 27 years ;D In fact if anyone here would rather not sell me parts... her's a chance to chime in.

Hey, I'll just trade you parts. No need to swap monies unless we just have to. Thanks for the header pipes. It was really generous of you. BTW, since I found the 4-int-1 supersport pipes, you can have those back whenever you want.

No need for all of this animosity. We're all brothers here. Only one has been banned, so we clearly have plenty of room for diversity.
