"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Is that an eBay ad or Craigslist ad? He repeatedly references the winning bidder. I've never been able to understand the fender for a fairing thing, either.

As I race up behind you in my dumptruck I'm sure I'll understand what that tail light is trying to say.

I was considering using a fender for a fairing, but after seeing that... not so sure anymore :-[

Nice bike, stupid tires, stupid price.
I really hate that I love Deluxe Champions. They just look so damn good to me and I can't explain why. That being said I'd never mount them on a bike that I'd ride.

But for $10900 you get an extra mirror. This is another example of "If I price it at $10900 and someone offers me $7k, they will think they got a good deal and got over on me on this $3k bike and I'll still have made $4k off some unsuspecting fool with more money than sense". Any one with any knowledge of motorcycles knows thats a ridiculous price and are just laughing at the seller.

That's the beauty of it, though. Only takes one to like it, and have the cash for it.
That was my same thought when I mentioned the color scheme on the CB400. Everyone said it was a color not many would want. I only want one buyer who wants to be different.

People with money and know what shit is worth still buy stoopid shit... Rolex comes to mind, $500 worth of gold and $50 worth of jewels for as much as 80K and still use the cell phone to tell time, Is a watchmaker really much different? Common sense aint so common mang

Ah, I'm a watch guy. Obviously Rolex charges a premium for the name. But, with the name, comes status. Is a $700K Richard Mille worth $700K? Depends on who you are. If you have $700K to blow, it's an amazing piece of equiptment to strap on your wrist. At the same time, a $5 Chinese quartz is going to keep better time than the top of the line mechanical watches. When I was wearing one of my Breitling's daily, I gained +6 seconds a day on average. Over time, and a whole lot of golf and kayaking in it, it fell out of COSC specs, and needed a service. The best mechanical I have, an Omega SeaMaster Planet Ocean, the Co-Axial movement is super smooth, and holds great time. The Tissot I wear daily now, has lost 3 seconds over the last six months, and I've beat the ever loving shit out of it.

Same can be said for a motorcycle. Someone may see it and have no problem dropping ten grand on it, so not so much. Same as some will look at a Daytona and see the $15K being reasonable, while others don't see the difference in it and the Pulsar at Wal-Mart for $30.

I have a GMT and love it, but I always have to set it so I gave up on it and wear a Seiko automatic that never needs setting, it lasts for a week or more in the drawer when I do wear the GMT.

I bought a Daytona off of CL in 2010. Ended up being a little old lady whose husband had passed. Got it for next to nothing, actually paid her $1,000 more than she was asking for it. Looked like it had never been out of the box, not so much as a scratch on the clasp from sliding around on a table. I've never been a big fan of Rolex, but I couldn't pass up on that one. It is an easy $10K if I ever need it on a rainy day.

I haven't worn a watch since I was in the Navy in 1993. They are a waste of money, and unsafe for a machinist.

Oh, but I have one of those jobs with titles and we like to compare dick size and ties at breakfast clubs and lunches in fancy places... I got the GMT playing Holdem and wore a sports 100 ever since getting my dive cert waaaaay back when I had hair and could see my balls without sitting or standing in front of a mirror
