CB100 First Build

Ok so had a play around with the flame proof clear.

Laid down two coats of the clear over high temp black. Haven't cured it yet but looks good.

Here are a few photos to compare. Excuse the crappy phone quality.
Frame is heatproof black, headlight bucket is heatproof black plus satin clear enamel, the shock top cover is heatproof black plus vht flameproof clear.

Clear coat is done!
Didn't hit it with the heat gun. Just left it in the sun all weekend. Got to the point of being almost to hot to touch so figure that is enough.

Bit shinier than I had hoped as hit it with a bit to much clear but looks great still.

Now putting it back together. Hopefully get the engine back by the end of the week. If not have to wait a few weeks.

That looks very, very nice.

One day.......I'll get back on mine..............

Keep up the good work.

Got a box of parts today. So have a New Year's Day project.

Installing the rear sets which unfortunately came with only linkage for one side. Then working out mountings for the blinkers and brake light then start the wiring.

Here is a shot of the rear sets.

Without meaning to be negative, I think you maybe could have worked out your mounting method for the rearsets before you'd put a finish on the frame, they look like you may need to weld on a bracket or two?
Its going to be a v.nice cafe indeed.

I wanted to avoid the welding to the frame as from what I can tell according to the regulations here in oz I would have to get it engineered. Which is a pain.
So these mount to the swing arm bolt then another bolt with spacer into the lower centre part of the frame just behind where the engine bolt is.

The problem I am facing now is that I need a new swing arm bolt, but in the size I need (M12 x 300) I can only find galvanized not high tensile.

I mounted mine using the swinging arm pivot and the redundant centre stand hole. I used threaded bar with spacers for the bottom mount but for the swinging arm I had a mate thread up the ends of some high ten bar to make a new bolt. However if you do a search on Pit bike and chinese bike spares I think you may find something the right length.

The 280mm bolt works. Using a galvanised bolt to mock up the figment of the rear sets until I get a high tensile one next week.

Working in stripping the rattle can paint off the wheels and polishing them up a bit.

Here is how they started and progress so far.

Started to work on putting the bearings back in the steering head but the tapered bearings I got don't look like they will fit.

Also found the rear whelk is the incorrect size. Has an Araya 17x1.60 instead of the standard 18 inch wheel.
