Just messin with ya buddy... :D

i know. i laughed pretty hard when i read that... sometimes i forget how old (or rather, young?) i am :D :D

i should be able to get some work done this week... although maybe i should study for my sats... maybe i can do both...

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

Rocan: they just got there....wow. Well I'm glad they are there and you're pleased! I think they'll suit you really well, they are in good shape. I did find that the emulators that mike's XS sells will work with those forks so if you're looking for reeeealy nice handling they are way less expensive than the racetech pieces.

Kiley, thanks man just in time!

thanks again swagger. ive heard good things about the mikes XS emulators so they will definititely find their way into these forks one way or another!

got more bad news then good today.

good news: parts for my dads ride came in so i have something to work on.

Bad news: girl i have been after for the past three years broke up with me after the happiest month of my life. been pretty bumbed out about it. guess i just wasnt good enough... although i stopped practically everything that bothers her (interesting to see my fingernails grow back :p)

thats why i love bikes. do a little maintenance here and there, and you can ride em all day without argument 8)

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

there are tons a girls out there man, don't fixate.
Especially at your age amigo.....now's the time to sample the goods....so to speak.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

if a girl cant appreciate how awesome you are, she's not worth your time

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

this is like a couch session, sack up, get out there and hit up some strange.... come on man up! i would try and tag out a few of her friends... but that is just me and i was always a dirty dog

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

Hang in there bud. been there too. maybe she's testing you. Do like GO says, and pay her no mind. If she wakes up don't get too excited but don't be a jerk either. take a day at a time. I was dumped more times than I'd like to admit. She was the most beautiful girl in school and I got dumped after a week or two of being with her. Like three times at least LOL.
Well now I've been married for...going on 12 years now and couldn't be ahppeir. matter of fact I married my highschool sweetheart...the same girl who dumped me thrice! ;D

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

My man... You live in New York city! More beautiful girls than you could ever ask for! You will soon have a badass custom bike to impress every last one of em'! Forget her... Keep on truckin bud!

thanks everyone... ive been with a pretty decent amount of girls.. she just had a special place in my heart. oh well. life goes on i suppose. ill be MIA a bit this week... sat's this saturday. :) :)

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

finished sats about 3 hours ago... not bad at all... felt confident.

tried to do some work after getting home... started dismantling the forks swagger sent me... they are beautiful. Seals and fluid looked new, but i had to take em apart to polish the lowers.

got the oil out of them and then tried to take off the damping rod bolt...

its stuck on there like you wouldnt believe. even 3 foot pipe and heat wouldnt let it bulge... i started to strip it (YIKES) and break my tools, so i let it alone for now (anyone have some tips on this mofo?)

went to work on the motor dissasembly. on the left hand side i cant get off the four cross head screws that hold the advance mechanism box to the head. so that means i cant take the cam off :(

tried heat and penetration oil to no avail. started to strip the bolts so i gave up and washed my hands. stupid jap cross head bolts... will be buying an impact driver and trying that out. if that fails, ill use a bolt extractor on the stripped head. if that fails, ill drill the heads off, take the box off, and then use some vicegrips on the bolt body.

im pissed i couldnt get anything done today.

anyone have any ideas for the damper rod bolt?

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

It should pop out easy with an impact driver.
Lot of torque and long cheater bars will only screw the Allen heads up completely

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Getting near a rolling chassis!!!)

Yeah I agree with pj the impact of an impact is what loosens stuck bolts not so much the force of the twisting action if that makes sense.
