I cleaned the carbs bybrass brushing, boiling in Lemon Juice, Then blasting with the home made soda blaster. Worked GREAT! They look like brand spanking new! BUT seam to have lost a little plug... See below

Anyone know if I can just seal around this with engine glue??? or tape over it? Or have a spare plug? Or know where I can get one?
Once I find the replacement I'll be putting all the cleaned and painted parts back together.. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Carbs look awesome! I would never have thought I'd say this but I think the red wheels my look good. The reason I say this is I bought a road bike this past spring and it is blue with red wheels. The red is anodized (sp??) though and i think it looks killer on my bicycle. I'll try to locate a photo.
BTw I'll bring this up since you've been asked. Your photo reminds me of "Uncle Buck". When a guy holding a beer picks up a lighter I know its time to leave. Hahahaha, just kidding bro.

Anyone ever had stuck slow jet? It is the one below the rubber plug (screws in with a flat head). I can get it to turn and be "loose" but is seems to be stuck in there from years of crud.... I've boiled them in Lemon Juice, Water, and blown the crap outta them with 120 psi! I have replacements so I guess I could kinda drill it out till i can get and easy out to grab... But I was wondering if there was a "Why don't you try this" Idea.... More heads are better than one!

for things like that which are not rusted or galled in place by dissimilar metals i would use a solvent (such as fresh gas) or wd-40 and just screw it in and then back out in and back out. it seems a little suggestive but i have done this on lots of little things i didn't feel comfortable using pressure on and it eventually works. just wipe the threads with a q tip or my favorite, a gun cleaning cloth, super cheap and low lint, to get the residue you have freed up of the threads.
then relube and repeat, after a while it will come further and further out.
too much force can deform, widened shrink or close off the tiny idle jet hole . so take your time and then when you get it out.......... clean the shit out of the threads inside and out so it doesn't stick in the way back in!

Make a lot of Carb progress.. All I need to purchase now are new o-rings. I can't see spending a ton of loot for the OEM o-ring kits, so I'm doing Rouge! Ordering from an O-Ring supply house. Does anyone know the O-ring size for the float bowl o ring & the pilot jet? Also if you know the float bowl o ring sizes for a CB350F I'd love to order extras for that bike too!

The o-ring for the float bowl is not actually round but instead it comes in the 5sided shape of the bowl. I guess if you found the right size you could make a round ring work? Ive also heard of people using gasket glue or something to cut the right length then glue it together at the cut ends. I wouldnt feel too good about that solution though seeing as its up against gasoline.

I know the o-ring you take out of old nasty carbs are 5 sided, but they are originally round o-rings... I just ordered a bunch of different sizes and spent less than honda charges for their kit! I figure someone has to do it so we all can know and never pay for those OEM ones that are way too over priced! next mission is to find a replacement for those little rubber plugs in the pilot jet hole. Sirius can't be the only after market place to sell them. There has got to be a .50 plug that will work! I'll let you know if there is!
I think my mission is to create a full o-ring / SS screw & nut kit for the CB350 Carbs. Would anyone be interested in this? All the hardware including the nuts?! I Almost have it all figured out.. including the butterfly screws! And I'm thinking about a SS screw kit for the engine cases that include the flat heads on the sides! you can never get those in the EvilBay SS screw kits!

OK! Finally got some work done. Motor in the frame, Carbs ALMOST done (waiting on that little white plastic plug) Exhaust back from Thermal Coating, and most things installed. Once I get the carbs done, I'll be to the "tuning" part.. I hate that part!
But here is how she sits right now.. Tank and seat aren't on quite right. I'm still working on a quick release for the eat.. although JRK has me thinking more and more about Velcro...
Things still to do:
Get running,
Rear-sets (picked up a Duc-Monster brake petal that looks promising)
Mirrors? (threw on on old set upside down. Not sure if they will work in actuality, but I thought I'd see.)
Install chain
make wheels pretty (it will be a cold winter thing.)

Schmick mate, bloody nice indeed. Really like that front fender as well, sort of thing I'd like to do to mine when I get around to it.
Don't sweat the tuning, just set the mainjets so they give the best pull at higher rpm and then stuff around with the rest until you're happy. Its always a good feeling to tune a bike well, not to mention people can often be surprised at how well it goes for "an old girl". Good luck with it.

Thanks for all the Positive feed back! I feel like this bike has been "in the works" forever! I hope this weekend or next week I'll have it running... unless the wife finds more shit for me to do!
As for the mirrors.. Yep.. factory mirrors upside down. Not sure how practical they are. I think I'll eventually get some classic bar end mirrors, but I saw a BMW with some mounted kinda like this so I thought I'de give it a try.
As for not changing much, I just really like the classic lines, and I hate cleaning, Ditching the rear fender meant more cleaning, so I kept it. If I was going to race it, could easily drop it, but for now, Fender it is!
The main jets are 115's. I think that should work with a 2 into 1 and V stacks. I also have 105's if I need to step down and then drill them larget a little at a time. I guess I should just ask ChrisF what his jetting is on his 2 into 1... Chris?
The rest of the tuning is what I hate.. The electrics and such! Athough I'm going to try a home made manometer for this bike.

Congrats bud. bike looks fantastic. I had to read twice to make sure it wasn't photoshop magic, haha. I even like the mirrors like that as long as they work. Looks different and kinda cool! Just look at it again. Heck yeah, I'm lovin it! really nice work!
