when you ride poorly built outright dangerosly modified bikes like yours, but complain about draconian regs ? you are part of the problem dood ,people getting hurt on shit that is a hazard on the rode is why the laws get scribbled out, aint it ?
Everyone can be an internet expert from distant photos mate, it's all good

Bike looks great, Rbass!
Pay no attention to XB33bsa, for some reason, he's driven to find fault in everything, or make it up if it's not there.

Thanks bigsherm! Appreciate the kind words. I know it's not perfect but nothing rarely is!

XB33bsa has no idea what he is talking about. Who are you to state what is 'poorly built' and outrages? You have no idea how o.ps bike was constructed.
Modifications still have to pass an engineers approval otherwise known as a VASS certificate to be registered.
If its not safe then it doesn't get to be on the road as simple as that.

Pretty rich coming from XB33bsa when talking about safety when half your country doesn't even require helmets to be worn

Just enjoy it Rbass87.......jealousies a prick of a thing.

.....something something......XB33bsa.....something.....Asshole

Could be worse, could live in QLD.... Are things as bad up there as I read?

Wow, you have it in for us Queenslanders... Did the XXXX not hit the spot? HAHA

I am in the worst of the new "ANTI-BIKIE" laws living on the Gold Coast, but the thing is, since the laws have come into effect I have not been pulled up once! Even after one of my trumpy mufflers decided it didn't want to live on a Yammy any more, right when I was next to a police van! Although being it was new years eve, and I was overly subtle about picking it up, they must have had better things to do. Either way I was not hanging around to find out (that and the muffler was bloody hot on my crouch as I was riding home...)

As for our RWC up here in the backwards state, you just have to know the right people, or register it stock as they do not check again after it passes.

RBass, I am with XB, well not the whole condescending attitude, but I am concerned about the space between the rear battery box and the rear tyre. Last thing you want is to bottom out on a left hand turn, have the tyre smash into the tray and cause the tube to pinch and pop, causing you to low side into oncoming traffic...

Other than that nice work for a first build mate. Will be interested to see what you can do with the K100.

I agree as well. Although XB can come across a bit intense, he really does have a point and knows what he's talking about. I'd urge you to listen to what he and people like Teazer have to say, as being a new guy to a hobby and not listening to the more experienced people is a stupid idea.

That being said, the bike looks tidy mate, just sort that rear end clearance out!

From Green199-
"That being said, the bike looks tidy mate, just sort that rear end clearance out!"

That's how a man offers advice.

Yeah cheers mate will do. There is more clearance there than what it looks in the photos, and also where the tyre is under the back of the bike there is no electronics or anything there for the tyre to hit. But I'm still thinking of making up some bump stops for it or something to sort that out, but like I said there's a fair bit more there than it looks. Thanks for the input though!

Oh also I ended up moving that k100 on at the end of last year, just decided it wasn't going to work the way I had in mind. Truth be told I really wanted a r100 but couldn't afford one haha. So im thinking maybe a Kawasaki z500 now or something, just food for thought now though!

Just a thought. Remove one shock and then compress th other one and see how much clearance is left as it bottoms out. If it's still too stiff for you to squash it, try removing the spring and try it without a spring so you can see the clearance or lack of it at full bump.

If it's close to hitting or has say less that 25mm of "negative clearance" you could try slightly longer shocks to lift it a little.

The problem with short rear ends is that they are closer to the tyre. Stock bikes tend to have long back ends and lots of clearance.

Another possible fix is to find an elegant way to stretch the back of the seat hump, so that the lower back edge is further away from the tyre.

XXXX is OK but it's not VB :)

(maybe it is now with all the industry consolidation going on)

I was thinking more of the Jo and Flo show and other political gerrymandering that occurred up there in the past. I have brother up there north of Brissie and have a few QLD mates. How did that TV commercial go? Sunny one minute, perfect the next - or something like that. One of my favorite places in the world is still Fraser Island. Talk about paradise.

I love Fraser Island, its one of the best places to visit, if you can avoid peak period times. Went up there many moons ago now, been trying to plan something in the near future to do a bit of touring, but can't decide between doing tassie or going back to Fraser. Tassie is much closer! Haha and it doesn't have xxxx...
