Haha! No, couldn't wait to get another bike. I've been wanting a 550 for a while... Saw this one in Nashville and couldn't pass it up!

Sucks about Mike being so busy. The guy has a ton going on over there. Never heard of Dave's Cycle Works. Some place I need to check out? But yeah dude, ride on over! Ready to see the 360 tearing it up myself.

Dave worked on my bro-in-laws 500 and did a fantastic job. He seems like a really solid dude and is good friends with Mike. He was also busy but 2 weeks is better than "I'm not taking any work right now".

That's exactly what I want to do with my CL pipes. Do you know of anyone who sells one that fits? Just trying to avoid paying someone to custom create one.

Got a new case cover. Cut a little off and thinking about drilling a few holes in it before I polish it... What do you guys think?

did you paint the rims yourself how did you even get the red stripes is it tape?

Thanks for the compliments on the wheels! I'm stoked by the way they turned out! Sometimes picturing something in your mind looks better than it turns out in reality. Luckily, I think this one worked out.

The rims are powdercoated and then the stripe was painted on. The red on the wheels is the same as the red on the seat and tank. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics of everything together after I get the bike wired.

Haha!! My wife bought it for me. She knew what I was after, but also knew that she had no idea what she was looking for. So I found it and went and picked it up. Very excited about that bike, but nervous about the massive amount of work its going to take... This 350 has to be running and on the road before the first wrench turns on that one!

looking good, but that brace between the rear shock towers is going to contact the tire. not safe at all.

I'm not so sure about that. He's got a good bit of space, but I don't know how much travel is in those shocks. looks to me like it might clear. My only concern is that those look to be uni-directional tires and they are facing the opposite direction. It looks like the front may be backwards? Or I could be completely wrong...my 2 cents. Otherwise, this thing is looking great! love the accent stripe on the wheels. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to what this thing turns into.

Tires are on right. i have the same avons and thats the correct mounting.

Avons always look like they're mounted backwards on the front, but they're mounted correctly.

Measured the distance from the tire to the brace at 3.1 inches.
Eye to Clevis on the shocks is 13 in.

Anyone know the full compression length of these shocks?
Couldn't find the info online yet. I do know that these MDI shocks are stiff and full compression may or may not happen, but not a risk I really want to take.

From looking at Hagon's website as some sort of reference, their shocks full compression is between 50-80mm or 1.96-3.14 in.

I need to test the full compression of these shocks, but if I move up to a 14" eye to clevis I may be able to clear.

Ideas, suggestions??

Damn Rocan! Now this is all I'm thinking about today! ;D

So I'm going to fully compress these springs on the bike to see what happens and before I order another set. It may never contact the brace, but I have to be sure and can't leave it up to hope and chance.

I'm going to measure it again when I get home since I measured it this morning sitting on the center stand. But with the stiffness of these springs, I'd say the distance from the tire to the brace is the same whether its on the stand or not.

Looking at Hagan's website along with a few others, their 335mm shock has an extended length of 13.2" and full compression at 10". If I jump up to the 360mm shock I'll have 14.2" extended and 11" compressed. Looks like I need to remove these shocks and measure the distance between the shock mounts at contact...

Support the bike under the engine. Remove shocks from bike. Remove springs from shocks. Replace shocks minus springs onto bike. Check the clearance of rear tyre by lifting the wheel until shock is fully compressed. With the springs removed you will only need to lift the weight of the wheel (which is hard enough but can be done...use a jack and jack it up if you need to).

good advice duc boy. That said it sucks getting those shocks back together i was pretty red in the face compressing those bad boys.
