CB350 - Project One (Complete...)

Re: CB350 - Project One (Rolling...)

Think I'm done with Project One... Maybe a few more tweeks, like a speedo! I can post up a few more pics if people want to see them. Big shout out to the Giant Robot for his help!

I just went back and re-read the section about your rear shocks. The distance you measured I'm assuming is from the rear brace straight down to the tire, correct? I'm only asking since I had the same issue and people gave me the same comments. I have the 14in shocks. I have 3 3/4 in from my cross brace to the top of the tire that is directly underneath. I haven't cycled the suspension yet but I'm confident that the tire will clear under full compression. Let me know how you make out. I'm curious.

Layeredcake: OE rims, powdered and painted. Tire sizes are F: 100/90-18, R: 120/80-18

WNTITAL: I ended up going with a 335mm Hagon shock, I think. May have to double check the length. But I removed the springs and fully compressed the shock to see where its bottom out point was. You're right, my measuring point was from the rear brace to the top of the tire. I ended up having around 1.25-1.5" clearance. I've ridden it pretty hard without bottoming out and I've had a few guys w a couple more lb's on them ride it with no issues. But to be on the safe side, I'd definitely remove the springs and check the distance.

Good to know. Also, did CB350's come with the side pipes? I thought only the CL's had the side pipes like we have. Either way I like the side pipes the best. THanks for the input.

Those are the early CL pipes that came with the suitcase muffler. The bike started life as a CB but I love the scrambler pipes and had to use them.

what rear sets are those? did they mount direct to the passenger mounts? Is the position comfortable?

Motobits. Really nice rearsets! I could say a thousand good things about them, although I did lose a toepiece on a ride yesterday... Pretty sure that one is my fault though, not enough loctite. They mount directly to the passenger mounts, are fully adjustable, and very comfortable.

I like it.. I like how you tied the black seat with the blue tank with the stripes... looks good.
