CB750K-Mainely a Dream

The acewell seems to just fine. I haven't ridden with it yet, so I can't give any definitive reviews. Wiring is very straight forward and the gauge has neutral and low oil pressure indicators, something I haven't had in a very long time ;) I wish I'd spent a little more money and gotten the selectable backlight color gauge and then paired it with a red lit innovate wideband. I don't really care for blue backlighting.

I built the harness from scratch. I think building a bike from the ground up, then re-using a 40 year old harness is a recipe for trouble. I did use some factory style connectors from Z1...and soldered just about everything. If your intention is to add it to an existing harness, it shouldn't be too hard with a wiring diagram.

Sorry bud, I wasn't clear. I've built my harness from scratch too, I know the Acewell comes with connector blocks on the wires, just wondering if you got the corresponding ones to attach to the loom with the gauge?

Gotcha. The acewell harness comes two part; Gauge harness to pin connectors, then pin connector to stripped wires. You can then, either use the supplied male/female connectors to connect to your harness or solder, or both. The pin connectors are are bulky, but its nice to have. Also, you can remove unused parts of the wiring harness by just removing the pin and associated wire ie turn signals.

Gotcha! Legend, thanks. I found a wiring diagram for the model I want on the Internet so put those feeds into my loom. Just wasn't sure if you got all the bits to connect it up.

What I previously stated as being stripped wires, are not. They do come with the male/female type connectors already installed. Forgive my goldfish memory.

Well, I took the time to tally up all the goodies on this build. This was my dream bike, and I don't expect to build anything with this type of goody list ever again...unless I'm paid stupid money ;)

Well, that's about it. I'm done, except for changing the seat, which I am not all that excited about. I'd intended to keep the bike two up, but it appears that will become impossible with the pipe. I've got about 100 miles on the break in of the motor. About half throttle is all I've given her. My first impressions; it's going to be very fast, very, very fast. It also rides like a caddy with the progressives and hagons. Overall, I very much like it. Tuning carbs that were never intended for this motorcycle has been rather straight forward using the Innovate wideband. Without it, I would have been way outside my element.

Enjoy,

Seth
