Great work going on in here. Loving that dual disc front end and stock seat, actually everything about the way this is coming together makes me smile. Good to see you building it your way!
Does the kick start work well with the rear set controls?
So I'm a bit worried that I'm missing a part for the front wheel assembly. When I went to fit the calipers onto the forks I noticed one was making contact with the rotor, so I had to re-adjust the axle a bit to get everything to clear. I thought maybe I'm missing a spacer or something, but looking at the front wheel assembly I don't see what it could be
But then I noticed that random nut, #20. Anybody have any idea where it would go?
I think I'm missing some pieces to fit the speedo drive correctly.
Either way, fitment pics. I don't really see how I could adjust this any other way, the rotors almost make contact on each caliper on the outside edge. IMG_4540 by jasonwithers, on Flickr
Closeups. These should be fitting flush shouldn't they? I'm not sure what I'm missing. IMG_4536 by jasonwithers, on Flickr
are you using the gold wing forks right ? is it the cb yokes ?
anyway to get one thing setteld those halfclamps have a front and back the front gets tightened flush then the back is gonna have the gap
most all hondas and others are designed to center the wheel from the nut side in other words the axle end that has the nut is usually clamping sideways and or position the wheel on the fork leg so that the other side can float position ever so slightly so the forks do not bind
That makes sense. What I don't understand is why I have to push the nut side so far out from being flush just for the rotors to clear the brake calipers.
I'm using all 1976 GL1000 parts. If something is incorrect then it was sold to me described incorrectly.
