Cool cheep speedo/tach

Ethanol how long did it take to get your rear sets delivered from them? Really interested in the gauge if it doesn't take a year to get.

whats the scoop on this speedo set up? hows it workin out for ya ? install a bitch? let us know dude! sorry in advance if you still havent gotten it to your door haha!

nothing here yet, will post up as soon as I have something in my big hairy paws

I didnt see any info on the web site but does anyone know if the offer the speedo and tach adapter cables? great find on this site thought, they have some great prices on turns, and tail lights.

i emailed the gentleman to see if this would work with my 82 cb750 k. this was his reply:

"Hello,it can be adapted on this bike. You need to build a mounting and awiring adapter by yourself. With best regardsDanDan"

These are electric units so no traditional cables are needed. You'll have to arrange for mounting of the sensor on the front wheel and wire it to the ignition for the tach.

The Acewell units have an option to run a speedo cable if you wish to, otherwise it's the magnet and hall sensor for the speedo pick-up. You could probably source the Acewell cable adaptor and use it - I'd say the unit would be identical except for the "no name" bit ???

My gs has the cdi ignition and I've heard that will kill the Acewell? Anybody know about this?

Can't say I've heard this - however my Acewell came with a 1M ohm resistor to put in-line with the tach lead if the ready was "jumpy". I never needed it on the ZX9, though.

Yeah, I don't think it's an issue though I've yet to receive the units.
I'd imagine since hte vast majority of bikes out there not come with CDI, it stands to reason that it will work.
Why would the makers limit themselves to points only bikes?

Because the signal it picks up is small and the noise from a CDI is huge. It's all about signal to noise.

Fortunately very few bikes have a CDI. Most "black boxes" are inductive and not CDI.

Thank you for pointing that out...I used CDI as in incorrect universal term for electronic ignition.

Okay I've been e-mailing back and forth with DanMoto on this gauge. They offer a one year warranty and will replace it in that time for any defects. He said it will work with CDI ignition (fingers crossed). So I am only waiting on Swagger's to arrive and hopefully post pics before I pull the trigger on ordering one of these too. Hope these really work out I kind of like the green back light over the blue.

Acewell gauges are good. If this isn't one, it's a scam, as that is a photo of an Acewell gauge and the description is copied directly from Acewell. I Googled "Adjustable to all tyre circumfences from 1 to 3999mm" and Acewell's site came up.

I tend not to trust anyone selling something without saying who made it, when it's in fact a branded product like the Acewell gauges.

Im thinking the factory that produces Acewell gauges has also made these.....without a branding. Seeing they have green backlights, maybe they were an"incorrect" batch that they're selling off to other distributors??

I'm betting that it is the same manufacturer.

I agree, its not uncommon to see Chinese factories sell them for less directly to people who then offer them as no name here in the US.
