Cool cheep speedo/tach

To you peeps wondering about the Acewell Unit, ITS NICE!(i cant comment on the cheapo unit). I just installed one on my bike. Fairly straighforward install. On the older bikes (mine is a 71 cb450), i think i only needed to hook up somewhere btwn 7-10 wires? I also am having an issue with the tach being jumpy. Stock ignition on my bike, but i havent tried to install the resistor yet. I'd rather ride. I can tell my approx rpm's anyway and know when to shift.
As for a speedo cable, dime city cycles sells a cable that goes in the factory location. I think it looks much cleaner than the magnet on wheel/sensor on fork set up. However, the acewell unit assumes a 1:1 speedo drive ratio. I started a thread on it, but will reiterate here. My bikes speedo has approx a 2.875:1 ratio. SO, you need to divide the circumference of your wheel my that number to get the proper input to the acewell (this probably only holds true if using the cable from DCC). I would check your speedo drive though and make sure you have the right ratio. You have to turn the actual wheel one full revolution (mark with tape or tire crayon and make mark on floor) and count how many times the speedo drive turns...that is your speedo ratio.

My synopsis; Upon further review, I dont think that this is an actual copy of an Acewell. The numbers on the tach portion are different from the ones listed on Acewells website (http://www.acewell-meter.com/) and the Fuel "Full" indication is not the same. Also, The indicator lights are not in the same place and they are notated differently (i.e. there is no "N" but there is an "R"). It does seem like it is built well and should last a while. Please let it be known that I am not able to test this gauge out as I dont have a complete bike to try it on. When I get to that point... I will update again.
