Not wishing to hijack the thread, but Vincent'esque exhaust is where we're going with the 2 60's style Cafe Racer projects. Here mocked up. The back pipe will sweep more gently into the front, material will be 45mm Stainless.
Why didn't I discover TR1 / XV920 sooner ?
Although I'm buried [ blinkered ? ] in the 60's styling - these free thinking versions have got ME thinking what I could do with my spare bike. I just love the way you guys have thrown the rule book out [ as we did in the 60's ] and come up with some beautiful creations. Once the 2 Sixties Homages are completed I'll be giving some serious thought to a more liberated creation.

Yes, "Doc's Chops" is the guy that did the TV Cafe Racer CX 500 and he's a great guy too. Super clean bikes.
I like the exhaust. I would try to show as much of the merge collector as I could, when done properly they look great.

Hi Gary,

I'm going to follow the shape the OEM front downpipe - it has a nice sweep to it.

Then I'll bring the back one in in a shallower sweep into the back of the front pipe about 12" - 14" from the port - a bit like the old Rocket Gold Star / Triumph siamese pipe join.

There'll be a slip joint level with the V of the engine to facilitate fitting, and that will have a small perforated heat shield over it to hide the join. I'm hoping to get the bike to the pipe man before Christmas.

Yes, I thought so - that was one well thought out CX and he came across on the TV as a straight bloke.

As stated... Lous dealing with some real heavy shit, and although I learned long ago not to speak on others behalves, I will say that those who are unaware of his situation should seriously let the shit talk fade. He quit digging it here, let us know that, and split. If he takes his shit down, oh well. Its his. His pics, his words, his ideas, etc... Move along... Nothing to see here.
