Honda Build

Re: 1972 Honda CB 350F Build. Update

No provoking and stop replying to genuine constructive comments with fucking 'Thanks'.

What are you doing about the rear clearance? You say 'Simply put, the risk of meeting ppl like you is outweighed by the benefits of having met great ppl here who are teaching me things about riding'. You can't learn about riding if you can't ride the bike because it doesn't move safely. How is this issue being amended so you can get out there with your '3 new friends'?

Edit : Plus, if the guy building it was a genuine and knowledgeable bloke as you say he is, there is no way in hell he would let a bike out of his shop that was unsafe for the sake of a pay cheque. Me thinks he is not so good.

I have responded "thanks" to comments that i dont wish to fully entertain.

The rear clearance points have been noted. I will not say more than that. I trust my builder and like i said, hes getting a MASSIVE tip. Im sometimes not so easy to deal with and hes been patient and has explained every little thing to me. Hes great and I can and will recommend him to everyone I know.

Not much more to say than that.

BTW here is a better pic of the seat and wheel

Re: Honda CB Update

Im not sure I can see the clearance from that photo, but here is a shot of the minimum clearance without hitting you can have with the travel of the hagons.

That bike is glorious.

and yeah, clearance looks the same as mine and we have the same size tires too. No rear fender? what happens when all that street crap hits your pods?

Re: Honda CB Update

That's not comparable to the clearance you have.

His frame is set up in an entirely different manner.

Jag, did you come across with a brace back there?

You dont know what youre talking about. Its exactly the same if not more. Please desist from giving me your advice. I dont want or need it. You have my permission to leave this post and never return. Dont worry over me. My builder is golden and knows what hes doing. Now please go away or do i have to put apple cider vinegar on you. wort

Re: Honda CB Update

Lololol.

1. I offered you no advice.

If you can't see the plain as day difference in the rear ends on those bikes, that's your problem.

Didn't you just say there was no difference, and I quote, "they are exactly the same."

Good for your friend, he too built a shit bike. Cars and bikes, two completely different things. Just because someone can build a car, doesn't mean they can build a bike, and vice versa.

No, I added nothing in the back, I cut the brace that comes up at the rear when I shortened it, turned some caps that go into the frame about an inch, and retained the rest of the pressed steel thats under the seat. If I added a brace I wouldn't have had clearance. I did weld the battery box in on 3 sides, which may have added a little support I'd wager. Here's another photo. The white rectangle you see is the battery box

Battery box may help if it's welded in solid. You'll likely have some flex back there if you push the bike hard.

Bike looks good.

What I meant was it's definitely no worse than what was there lol. Im sure it will flex, and of course after I had it powder coated i thought about notching a tube and running it in between. And yes I ran full beads around it. Thank you! I was happy it got nominated for BOTM on SOHC 4.

That tire will hit.

Re: Honda CB Update

The width doesn't matter in this regard. The height is what matters. Width is only going to determine how much of that tire grabs that hoop when you're plugging along at 50mph and hit a pothole.

Obviously you're facts are irrelevant. Coffee shop side walks in NY don't have pot holes man.
