Liam's ACE 125

Liam - I encountered the same problem with the S/S header flange piece ... holes just needed to be 2-3 mm further apart, didn't have anything to enlarge the holes with, plus I need to fabricate some kinda bracket for the silencer, etc.

Might wait till I see how you've secured your silencer first.

btw, What did you use to enlarge the holes with ? (forgive the questions, I'm just not as mechanically gifted as you!).

I did remove the EGR and re-jetted the carb, but recommend you don't disassemble the throttle cable if at all possible - I had some problems getting it to spring back responsively after - was stuck at WOT.

haz,
you have a little pin or peg in the slide on the carbys bore that must be lined up to get it to drop in or it sits on the pin and stays wot. turn the slide in the bore till it drops in.

I'm just using good old hand tools my round second cut file was enough to take a little off each of the hole on the flange.

My "silencer" has a fixing arm with it and a 8 mm bolt welded onto it so mounting it won't be too bad just going to pop a 10 mm hole in it and use the foot peg bolt to secure it.

With the throttle cable you will notice there is a cut out of the slider at the bottom of the spring the cut out needs to be towards the back of the carb as it only goes in one way or else it will be stuck in WOT. Easy mistake to make as it is a bit fiddley to get it back together.

Can't wait to have a listen to the new exhausts.

Your bike is coming together nicely. How long before you get it out on the road?

Wayne

Should be all done for next weekend just waiting for my new head light.

Sounds loud alright!!! I did the same with mine when just the header was on, couldnt help myself!! Then when the silencer was fitted, was a nice throaty rumble. Will post the file tomorrow.

A little game of spot the difference!

She is almost done, just mirrors to finish off and the head light to go.

And Haz it's still as load with the "silencer" on.

Wakes up the dead !! ...

Nice transformation to the bike, Liam. Noticed you've removed both wheel guards - fair weather riding only? hehe

Doesn't rain very often, I forgot to mention that I still have to give the front gaurd a trim and I have something planned for the rear.

What's the law around riding with no head light in oz, as I really want to ride to work this morning,

... patience mate ! ... you'd risk a stiff fine from the local constabulary, I would imagine ! Especially with your LOUD pipes and invisible guards !! hehe
