lil beast soon to be cb175

Do not re-use the connecting link. get a new one they only cost a couple of bucks.

You cam chain tensioner is in the wrong place or more likely, the chain is not on the crank properly

+1. You are never supposed to re-use master links.

I've heard you even have to use the master link from the same manufacturer as the cam chain. i wanna say it's a DID cam chain - Diesel450 got just a master link when he did his so you might wanna find out where he got it from. Is there any kind of kart racing near you? They use these cam chains as their drive chains so they might have a master link handy.

And thanks Chris! You really didn't have to do that!

yeah there is k1 racing not far from me. i will check it out this weekend. I'd rather change it and be safe than have this work go up in flames for one stupid thing.

Big R i got the part last night unfortunatley it is smaller than the ones i have but i'll see how it works out. i'm wondering about air flow. thanks a lot though for the help. i'll figure something out.

i was trying to search through the site for the sizing of the chain. i believe it is 219-91 am i anywhere close?

Sorry man. I'm assuming the throat diameter is too small? I checked it to the spare 71 motor I have in the garage and it seemed pretty close. Let me know if I can help with it.

I can't remember the size of the chain off hand. I took a pic of the box that it came in for just that reason, but no way to access the pic right now. I'll double check as soon as I get the chance though

yeah the throat is too small. its all good. i'll let you guys know whats up with the chain when i get a chance to get to it.

its been a long time.. i moved so i have more room for stuff (don't know if that is a good thing or not) i have gotten a lot done with the bike which is a good thing

so the timing chain took forever to get done. post office lost a tool i needed for the chain, couldn't get it to sit correctly, tore the motor apart too many times, and forgot to get pictures together for it but i got it done

here are some updated pictures.

i'm waiting on grips, bar end mirror, still messing with the rear light, got the fabric for the seat done last night,

still on the search for are the intake manifolds (swagger is going to be the man and help me out fabbing some up after i shoot him my good one) les is also helping me out with the clutch and throttle cable but waiting for those will be a while

did a lot of research on coils and petronix system. right now i have a new point breaker and a old one (which i plan on using as an experiment for the petronix. but now i need to find a coil which will be best. i found this accell that they use for harleys. have seen them on builds like mine just don't know if it will run with the petronix.

this is the coil what do you guys think

I didnt even realize you updated this!

Instead of the Harley coil, Les has the Dyna coil for about $80

i'll call les. i have been talking to him a bit lately for the cables for the clutch and brake. i'm going to route the originals for now to see if i can get a little life out of her. i'd rather get it from him than some spot on ebay since he knows whats going on.

Just got it today as a matter of fact! It was delivered to my neighbors house yesterday by mistake. Thanks man!

any time can't wait to see the next project. i'll be getting mine in about 2 weeks. won't start anything till this 175 is done.

man when are you going to be done with this thing? just kidding. i found one of those Dyna dual output coils for $55 NIB on ebay. ill be home after next weekend so ill help you out some more when i get back.

i spoke to les he is going to hook it up with a coil and wiring. also getting a throttle cable from him from a 160 type that he built before since there is a wait on the motion pros. even though i already have a throttle sleve i know i can just use that one on the next build and get the set up les mentiong now so i can get the 175 together.

so tonight i was thinking well while i'm waiting for parts might as well organize my part box. i was going through the wiring and trying to match up the og wires with the new harness i got. well its not an exact match due to some plugs being male when i need female also the ignition plug is different. i'm think i can just cut the wires and change the plugs out. what do you guys think. this is what the plug is like for the ignition. sorry for the super size pictures

this is the og plug
