Been a while, but got some stuff done through the bloody winter, which isn't ending here! I have the day off and was going to go out and work on my electrics tray and look at this shit!

WOAH!

That tank looks awesome though!

Well, got well above 0 Today and got the whole day to work on her. Fixed the electrics so I can run both seats, put the tins and bucket on, put gas in the tank, hit the start button and fired her right up! Took her for the first ride of the season. Still a few things to do, like lower the gauges and tighten the chain, fresh oil too but man it felt great to ride again. Had to avoid a few snowy spots but who cares!

Pics. Cafe ish.

Takes less than 5 mins to swap from 2-up to single. Both lights use the same pigtail connector so one bolt to take the cafe seat off and then the factory goes right into place. The cafe seat is actually more comfortable fro me as I have really long legs and it takes some of the bend out.

Cheers

Hell yeah, mike. I am still trying to get my chop finished so I can take my first ride of the season.

She is a good looking little scoot.

She's purty little thing, huh! That red on white looks great!

Yep, I was just going to leave it a cafe, but gas at 1.50 a litre is retarded and I can save a pile of $$ using the bike to get to work and pick my son up at daycare. I will be saving about $30 bucks a week all summer that can go towards other stuff. Oh yeah and it is way more fun to ride than drive :) I can throw the Cafe seat on for when I want to ride the twisties for fun.

bike looks great bud! love the new paint! shoot that motor!!!

Ha Joe. I painted the motor, it is just filthy in the pic. Roads were really dirty. I will be cleaning her up good this weekend and doing some basic maintenance too. Might try to lower the guages. However, budget is blown and there is no more money to spend on her this year so I would have to be able to do it with what I have in the parts stash.

Cheers,

Mike

hey man,
love the paint it really did come out nice.
i love the honda decals on the tank, makes it pop.
i also like the two up look to it with the origanal seat.
how are the bars, i have seen them on bikes before and think they look good for a every day rider. might get some for my next build.
any way, looking good. mine is still in prts and feel a little jelous, cant wait to ride.
later.

Thanks, the bars are quite comfortable. Low enough for great control but not back breakers. I got them, for $20 bucks from a local biks shop out of their parts catalog. Just looked through the selection of 7/8" bars and picked ones that had measuremtns that made sense. Way better than the mini apes that came on the bike. It was actually scary to ride wioth those. Leaning into turns made me feel funny. I do a lot of mountain biking so that is kind of the riding postion I have set up on this bike. As for the original seat, I took a page out of Swapmeet louis book and shaved the foam level to make the huge hump go away on the back. Made it easier for my 6 year old to reach the foot pegs too. He had his first ride home from daycare yesterday. It is always a hoot to see all the kids faces as he puts on his gear and jumps on the back.

good luck getting yours back together. I hate it when mine is in pieces even when I can't ride it.

Cheers,

Maritime
