What do you guys think?

nice work man! she sounds great! i have to be honest and say i do not think that either of those tanks really fit the bike, maybe if oyu where to dish the triumph tank it would fit the look a bit more, but i think a penut or just a classic sporty tank would look good, man that sucker sounds great! nice work man very nice work!

The BSA tank fits best, I think. It really changes the profile a bit. Love it.
Also those are some funky decals on the sportie tank. That sucker ought to go quickly!

no way! those are classic!!! super hard to find. if i had the $ i would def pick that tank up. I agree sitting up on the back bone like that is a NO GO, but if you where to cut the tunnel on it and have it hug the frame rails more that would look money!

I was weary when I first saw that you bought this thing... that sporster tank sitting up high like that and those handle bars... ugh.. But its really shaping up! I like the bsa tank personally.

hahaha.. WOW.. another DTTer for the BSA tank!!..
Honestly.. Im more partial to the Triumph tank!!... I should mention that the Triumph tank has knee rubbers that I haven't put on it yet!!..

Im thinking of putting that BSA tank on my XS Bobber.. the hardtail frame on the XS is shorter... hmmm..

Shyte, leoN you have a lot of things going on.

Personally i'd go with the rest for the BSA tank. It has an immense flow with the rest of the bike but is still keeping the grimey bobber look that i love. ::)

The Triumph tank makes the bike and especially the fork feel kinda long, mayby its just the angle spooking, dunno :p
Mayby its just me who likes the forks super short. ;D

Look again.. here it is with the BSA Tank:

Im thinking of putting the BSA tank on my XS650 Bobber since the frame on that bike is shorter...
Anyone out there wanna give me thumbs up on the Triumph tank??!!...

You're wrong, we're all right. BSA tank all the way. Much much cleaner flow with the frame lines, flows with the seat, lower, meaner look.

Try flipping the headlight over so it hangs down - just for fun.

Now THATS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT!!!..

:D

Naw...I'm with ya brother, the Trumpet IS the way to go. The stupid peanut looking brown tank is a joke and should be turned into a lamp or desk side trash bin. So much fail it may just create it's own category of bad. Same for the MOCO tank, too much frame hanging under, I guess that's cool if you're posing in front of Starbucks or something.
The BSA tank is nice, it's a very close second to the right one, but still leaves a bit to be desired. It's too bulbous for THIS bike, as much as a I LOVE the chrome side panels on it.
The correct tank fills the space over the engine perfectly.....like it was made to fit there or something crazy like that....wacky huh?
Rather than looking cartoonish, it implies a certain muscularity to the bike to offset the somewhat spindly look of the girders. It lets the bike hunker down like it's getting ready to pounce on and eat a Sportster for breakfast and then crap out a Datsun when it's done. Same goes for the lower bars, muscular, low and a little mean looking.

The only thing I'd change would be to hang the headlight off the frame down tube behind the forks to open them up for the viewing pleasure of anyone with good taste.

Then I'd ride the shit out of it....right after buying a kidney belt!

edit: this is in no way intended to bash on anyone elses ideas. I'm just an opinionated fuck this morning who hasn't had any coffee.....

BAHHAHAHAA!!!.. there!!.. Thank You Swagger!!...
Great minds think alike ;D...

So the Triumph tank it is...
I still have the knee rubbers that I will put on that tank as soon as I clearcoat it with Por-15 PC Glisten

I'm with you and Swagger. Triumph tank all the way! It fits, looks great, and it holds lots of gas. Besides that, BSA tank would present the problem of trying to cover up the tank badge holes.
