I'm so happy for you!
Congratulations, the bike looks awesome.
You should be very proud of yourself.
We basically had a shared experience. We both got up and running

Yessir!! These little bikes actually pull pretty hard!

Re: "Patina" The 1973 CB175 Cafe Racer

Thanks guys.

I have a few things to get done before I feel like she's buttoned up:

Install front fender

Fix petcock (leaking in run position)

Solve kill switch conundrum - right now if I flip my headlights off, the bike shuts off

Buy an extra swingarm so I can weld on a rear fender without having to put my bike out of commission.

Securely mount the EI box. Right now it's precariously sitting on top of my reg/rect .

Fix this dang oil leak. It's on the left side cover, very bottom bolt right next to the clutch adjustment. 3 quarter sized drops every heat cycle.

Buy some new fuel line. 3/16 is too dang tight. 1/4 is too big. 5 mm should do the trick.

Here's how the plugs are looking. Looks like the right is a little more lean than the left.

Well dang. Got up the road and the battery died on me about 2 miles in. Power gradually started going out. Had to keep the revs high to get to a gas station.

Waiting for the woman and the trailer.

Re: "Patina" The 1973 CB175 Cafe Racer

Go the bike back and measured voltage . Not the battery. Well it was low at 11.7 volts but not terrible.

Feels like it's bogging down or something . Fired back up and now the headlights are brighter. But now when I flip the headlights on the gauge lights dim. Any thoughts?

I am having the same exact problem. When I run no light. It will start back up. If I ride with light on. I'm done! Don't make any sense to me. I'm not charging more than I'm using, in turn uses the battery up

Yeah I read that on your thread and was going to reach out to you. What does your battery read when it does on you. Mine was weird. Dim light and cut out on me. Let it sit for 15 minutes and everything was bright again.

Also, my lights act as a kill switch so of I run without lights it shuts the bike off.

When I was actually able to crank the bike back up it ran like crap. Not sure what's going on.

I had the same issue with a CJ360. I replaced all the wires on my rectifier and now it charges fine. Of course there are a few ways to dynamite a charging system but that is one.

Re: "Patina" The 1973 CB175 Cafe Racer

It's a brand new refulator/rectifier. Certainly not the problem but I guess stranger things have happened.

On another note, I just picked this up for the engine and swingarm.

That's a rare find. I have (bought by accident the side chrome gaurds) they only fit that bike. 20$ I paid and they are yours. Or if you just sell me the exhaust ;D

If you want the exhaust I will put your name on it. PM or text me and we will work it out. All I want is the swinger (and bushings) the front fender and the engine. The rest is up for grabs.

And at first glance the tank is dent free...

Re: "Patina" The 1973 CB175 Cafe Racer

Ok, formal invitation. I only need the engine, front fender and swingarm. Any other parts on this bike is for sale. Everything on the bike is there save the right carb and right side cover.

There's some rusty gold on there. It overall everything is salvageable with a good media blast and paint/powder. I figured I would offer her up to the guys subscribed here before I put it up to the whole forum.

Exhaust is spoken for as well.
