Post a pic of your latest purchase

Thanks for the hint PJ. I have a few VW sites bookmarked for my eventual Ghia project. I will have a look through them, or I might just hit up Sonreir lol.

Voltage regulator off old Beetle will fit and isn't much bigger than stock Yamaha one ;) (just in case it's missing)
Aw fuck me. I've been searching for custom options for 6v lighting and electrical on the XL. For some reason VW's didn't occur to me. And this from a dipshit that had 4 bugs in the 80's. Man, the 90's really ate my brain.

The XL is an AC system, the Yamaha is a DC system, pretty much totally different.
Beetles come in all flavors though 6VDC, 12V DC 12V AC.
May be able to use reg/rect off CB500~900dohc on Yam but not XL. That just needs any old bridge rectifier with about 4~5amp capability
Yam also has starter brushes in the generator.
It's a great fun thing to learn electrical systems with ::)

So a 6v led light from a beetle will not work?

Just got an early Christmas present! I didn't buy them, but whatever... They're pretty nice and seem to be of good quality. Haven't done anything more than walk around the house in them though.

Yup - that's just the antique primer color that came on that gas tank.

You can get a good look at it in my build thread ;D

Or don't waste your time...

.
.
Or do.

pair of hayabusa m/cyls for the vmax to go with the 'busa 6 piston calipers i've had for ages (with the ugliest 'tribal' levers you'll see in a long time) the fluid caps could also do with replacing with stock or at least plain ones

new cylindrical tax label holder, levers for the hayabusa m/cyl's and very trick (if slightly ugly) indicators that also do duty as tail and brake lights so i can get rid of the whole tail-light/back guard bit of the bike and just have the indicators doing the lot

and then theres the xmas presents mrs spotty has got me.....

i've wanted the trolley and tool chest for ages and she asked me what i wanted so........and of course stickering was the first thing to do after assembly, just waiting for the Ichiban Moto stickers to turn up for that completely professional finishing touch

the fan's a fairly necessary thing given that the temp in the garage will be hovering around the low to mid 40's (degC) for most of summer

Yep, fan is cutting it cheap as well. You ought to get an aircon!

I am jealous of the tool boxes as well. Nice score Spotty.

haven't even got A/C in the house, can't see me getting approval for it in the garage before the house...shame though, would be nice
hope evryone's having a good day in xmas world
i can't even get on the lagers until i've dropped mrs spotty at the airport at about 9 oclock, then i've got the house to myself for 2 weeks, woohoo, beer, loud music and washing bike parts in the laundry sink heeheehee

Nice pressies. Mrs Spotty is definitely a keeper. I think most of the Mrs are the better halves of the deal. I know mine is. Merry Christmas to all on here.
