Hey swagger it's for my 78 Z650 Kawaka ( KZ ) over your way...doing a full resto except I ditched the mags & doing spokes...once it's finished I have a second Z which is going Caf'e
Nice Quinn! I've been loving the little Suzuki's, I picked up this K11 for my wife recently and It's been a ton of fun for both of us! (daughter, NOT wife in pic
picked this up not to long ago.. excitement got the best of me and maybe paid a little to much. Bike wasnt in running condition but owner swore up and down it runs but had been in storage. Slowly getting up to learning speed on these weird little diaphragm carbs and how hard it is to find replacement parts. Got a 30 dollar carb off of ebay and thankfully the 60$+ dia was in mint condition. Slowly get this up and running. Need to find suitable exhaust replacements as the old ones looked great but touching the chrome on the bottom and my fingers went right through..
Starting to love the singles as well.. keeping an eye out for a cb125 down south that is selling at 900 and trying to find a white s90.. this is addicting
have to love old batteries and owners that let them leak.. a bit of rust in the battery area so if someone can recommend a 6v replacement that wont spill its guts.. i would be appreciative.
For the 6v battery i believe you want a 6n12-a2-d which you can get at powersportssuperstore made by Yuasi. I think they are the best manufacturer for them, as its pretty hard to find and they are usually made cheaply.
I have a twinstar and that is what i will be using when the time comes.
Interstate also apparently makes one, but it seems hard to find.
thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I had to pretty much destroy the intake to get the carb out.. plastic turned really hard.. seeing if i can find someone to make a mold to do a high temp silicone version as from what I have around here the diaphragm carbs wont do well open air..
really wanted to go one of the below directions however my first build and thinking the cr110 airtech tank might be hard to fit on this stamped frame.. tried to find more info on the red bike but no luck.. might just slim things down similiar to the black bike and am very interested in figuring out a rear set and how to place it on this bike.
i looked at the 6n12-a2-d and it appears to be the same style as what was in the bike with the vent tube that was leaking... going to see if i can find a sealed version..
Picked up a brand new exhaust last night for the MB5. I posted an ad on our local classifieds looking for any parts and lucked into this brand new, never used stock pipe. Has a couple of very tiny scratches on the end, but extremely pleased with this find. Much better than the dented one I have now.
