Post a pic of your latest purchase

Nice Mike, I got a set last year from Beatnic I will be mounting soon to the GL, I read good things for the big bikes on them.

Bought mine in march of 2010. Even after all the trips I put on them last year, this is what they look like. Hauled my ass around the Dragon, down to Barber and back, over to Cleveland, and to and from work as much as possible. No trouble in the rain, on grooves, etc. I'll be buying them again.

Are you talking about the dragons tail between NC TN?

Indeed, a group of us from here went down last year. We're planning another trip this year, if you're interested.

Id love to go there with y'all but it wouldn't be much of a trip. I live under an hour away!!!! Im going to Western Carolina University and its a short trip down to there. I have almost been there we were at fontana lake but we never went down that far. But plan on making a few trips there over the summer.

Here is my Craigs List, $250.00 CB500T with 4800 miles. The PO said that the cam chain broke and believes all 4 valves are bent.... The first this to do is to tear into the head and see whats going on.>>>>>

Wow that was a great deal! I rarely see 500t'smy anymore.

Here's my latest: dr. Martens Samuel 10"jump boots. Basically ww2 paratrooper boots. Gonna save these for bike days!

I'm in the market for new boots soon, will be looking into those.

Get proper motorcycle boots, they fit better, are stronger and reinforced where they need to be (plus, more comfortable for riding/gearchanging)
The bulky toe section on DM and thinner uppers does make a difference.
I haven't used DM's as riding boots for over 35yrs

Well, that's just it. If I'm getting boots, they'll have to be tough enough for my everyday wear. My current set of BLackhawks are too worn out in the soles for work, and my 5.11's are beginning to fall apart.

I prefer a little extra side-to-side ankle support, the 5.11 boots I was using for a while were properly balanced in that respect. Good front to back flexibility, very good roll protection.
Of course, whatever boots I end up buying will primarily end up being my lumberyard wear at work, since the bike is primarily a means of transportation to and from there.

Well I like the dr Martens pretty good for what I do. I have used cocoran paratrooper boots in the past but don't know how long they would last in a lumber yard. Went down wearing cocorans once, they held up for 2a years after that of daily wear too. The docs, I just got them cause my grandpa had a pair much like them in ww2, and I wore them out when he gave them to me as a young'un...

I like Doc's but just for kicking around, There are just too many good reasons and reasonably priced bike boots out there designed for the job. I like my feet and ankles.....

Warning!!!!!! Graphic yucky images following.......icky scary nasty and real.......

Smurf bike, not as quick or fast as what we fuck with here. Nevermind a real sportbike.....

That's not good.......

.....really, just not good.

I've seen too many nasty things happen from not wearing the right gear. I realize it's up to one's own sense of safety or survival instinct and I've been known to take off my helmet for a couple miles when I get to a state you can....then I chicken out and put it back on.

I doubt if wearing boots would have saved that guy's foot. I wear my Docs a lot around town since they are much cooler than my motorcycle boots (heat wise anyway). I also don't always wear leather in the summer, but always wear a helmet. Not wearing protection (?????) is not the safest way to ride....... then again, it would be safer altogether just to take the four wheeler. I have had one (minor) crash with my Doc's....... my BMW fell over at a red light because my pants leg got hung on the Delorto carb. The cylinder landed on my ankle and the thin shaft of my Doc's protected it just fine, only a slight bruise. And, yes, I do have several pair of motorcycle boots which I always wear (only one pair) when on trips and long rides....... The Bates Fast Lanes are my favorite.

Probably rented moped and too drunk to go into shock?
It's still fucked up though.
Where do you find this stuff (that's a rhetorical question, I really don't need to know)
I used to wear MX boots, SIDI saved my toes when I went sliding down the road at about 80mph with 450lbs of bike on my foot

I bought a pair of Doc's to ride in but a few weeks later I found a deal on a pair of Joe Rocket Meteors. The Meteors are jsut so much easier to put on and take off, I always grab them first.
