Re: Project Celeste, CB400four....reaiizing my dream bike.
Thanks for the compliments fellas. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of the paint. It has been floating in my head for EVER, and to see it come to life, on the '77 tank that I wanted no less....is just awesome. I'm glad you all like it.
Not much new to report other than parts are flooding in, which is AWESOME! I can't do too much until my titled frame bike and core motor gets here from Michigan. It has been a pain in the ass getting the freight shipment squared away. The shop is prepped and ready to rock on it as soon as it gets here though. In the meantime, how about checking out the new toys that I have been collecting. It feels so crazy having this stuff in my hands. I calculated all of the parts I needed and saved and sold off so much stuff to be able to afford them. It is absolutely an amazing feeling to have some of this stuff in my hands. It's admittedly a little surreal. So on to the eye candy!!!
First off are these babies. 26mm Keihin CR Special carburetors with machined 400f billet manifold adapters. Pre jetted for a 466 overbore...
Next up are the Yoshimura 466cc big bore high compression pistons. I put them next to a stock 400f piston to show the size difference.
Also have titanium wrist pins for them:
A brand new heavy duty solid-side RK cam chain:
Titanium Heavy duty Kibblewhite valve springs and annealed aluminum valve caps:
and to top the springs off I got a Megacycle full race cam shaft. This increases valve lift and duration giving a good bit more mid and top end power. .290" of valve lift and a duration of 246* at .040". It is a beautiful thing. Looks funny because it is packed in lithium grease until I put it into the motor. It is the Megacycle 131-20.
I'm shooting for a target 60-65 BHP and a sub 300 lb. wet weight. Aiming for a sustainable 13-14k red line. I am so stoked.
