Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360
Hey Kanticoy, Marc has it right, it is just getting better and better. I can not wait to see this thing progress now that I had a peek at the inspiration. It is going to be wicked! Can't wait. Anyhow, glad I could help you out a little on your build. Lord knows how much influence and such you injected into mine ;D
Not to hijack the thread but a little suggestion on welding. If you weld something cut it back apart. Just cut a cross section and take note of penetration, undercut and such. Note what amperages were used and at what speed you traveled and how it looks etc. It will really help to see first hand whats really happening in there after the fact. Another thing to practice is welding at different angles. Once you feel comfortable welding flat, the next step is to weld horizontal, then vertical, then overhead. Kinda real world application stuff. Another thing to do is to learn how to chamfer the seams to allow good penetration. What that means is to bevel the two joints at a 45 to create a v. Sometimes it might require a few passes to fill it up, but if you don't trap flux it will make for pretty strong welds. Hope anyof this helps.
Ok, now back to this fantastic build!
