Oh, and while we are at it....

September 24 at 6:00pm - September 26 at 2:00pm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

East Coast Timing Association Speed Trials,
Maxton, NC
September 24 - 26 2010

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Created By Queen City Aces

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More Info: Tunes (?), beers, and some of the baddest flat out ton up +2 running you have ever laid eyes on. OK, maybe the beers are just our part... but the racing is pretty darn cool. We have a party barn down there, which is something like a "club house", and we are going to go check out the action at Motorcycle Madness at the East Coast version of Bonneville (only with better traction!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lots of stuff going for us to participate in!

Thanks Scott. That sounds good to me. So when are you going to be moving to the raleigh area and where abouts? We should get together before the event on Aug 21.

I'll be there the first week in August. We are moving into Holly Springs, and I'll be working near the airport.

Things have changed a bit since I left Raleigh - but that was a long time ago. Where are some good motorcycle hangouts? Not talking about the local Hooters, something more industrial/ecletic is to my liking...

A good friend of mine and member of this board lives in holly springs. I am sure you will meet him one of these days. See my other post in this section about byrdmans bike getting in cafe racer magazine, and that is him. There are a few biker oriented type places around here these days, but I dont usually spend much time hanging around them since I am so busy.

I think you'll love Holly Springs Scott - at least I do. We have two great brewery's and some great roads around the lakes. Based on the bikes in your profile I think you'll fit right in. There a bunch of guys that make up the NC Do The Ton chapter in Fuquay Varina that race vintage britt bikes and have tech days and get together's often. They are also the guys that organize the Raleigh Rumble each year, or this year the Bull City Rumble.

If nothing man you gotta make the Bull City Rumble this year. It just keeps getting better and better each time and the band line up this year is going to be awesome.

I'll also have a booth at the swap meet in August at the fairgrounds. I'll be trying to make the wife happy and get rid of some my extra junk. If anyone is going to also attend, let me know and we'll see if we can't set up close to each other.

Good luck on the move and drop us a line when you get in.

Cool, we will be living very close to Sunset Lake off Sunset Lake Road. I am afraid it is going to be tough moving so far away from the mountains, so I'd appreciate getting together at some point to scout out the best local roads for shakedown runs.

I'm familar with the Ton Ups since before there was an NC chapter, so it will be good to me some more of the locals. The Charlotte "posse" is planning to catch up with me for the Bull Rumble.

Some of the folks getting relo'ed with me have been discussing finding an old auto shop or something to rent for storage/workshop space... know of anything like that?

Think I saw one of your bikes at Stanley, Byrd...

Joe and I will be more than happy to give you the tour.

More storage space? hmmm now that could be dangerous... I cant think of anything off the top of my head, but as many local businesses that are suffering due to the economy, it might not be that hard to find something.

Which bike of mine did you see in Stanley? I went last year but couldn't make it out this year.

Hey Scott, just wanted to check on how your move is going so far. If you're going to work near the airport, Then Johan and I will be close to your alley since i work in the RTP and Johann works near Briar Creek. Let us know when you're all settled. Johann wants to have the guys come over his shop to hang out, or go to a pub to grab a bite to eat and drink and hang out.

Should be squared away by next week. Packing today, unpacking over the weekend. Man, I forgot how many boxes of parts I had....

Let's get together for a beer/beverage of choice maybe sometime next week?

Let me know what day is good for you. We should get together somewhere around Briar Creek. I think that is more central to all of us. plus there re plenty of restaurants to choose from. And it should be not too far from your work.

Let us all know what the plans are, I would be up for getting all the Raleigh DTTers together for dinner/drinks.

Any night mid week works for me. Weds or Thurs? Just name the place. Still learning, but the Garmin will find it.

OK guys, lets shoot for next Wednesday at 5 or 6 pm let's try the Carolina Ale house, they have good Burgers and steaks and what not.
This is the address:

7981 Skyland Ridge Parkway
Raleigh, NC 27617-8625

Let's do a head count and let me know if 5pm is too early or 6pm is too late whatever, byt 6 pm I'm usually cranky from being hungry.
I'll call Johann and see if his in.

I am down for dinner on wednesday night. either 5 or 6 works for me. 5:30 is a nice round number we could go with. I know it will be me and possibly another person.

5:30 sounds good as well, and if anyone shows up later that is fine as well. I will be meeting Johann at his place after work then head there.

Sounds good Joe. It will be a nice little crowd. The only one I haven't heard from is Scott. Maybe he is still busy with the move.
