The "Bomber" GL1100 project - added video

Re: The "Bomber" my GL1100 project

The bike looks amazing.

between you and Maritime I'm convinced a naked wing is the way to go for my sidecar project I've been thinking about. I'd like to ride more but since work is on route by daycare I'm the one dropping off the kids.

Re: The "Bomber" my GL1100 project

Wow, that turned out nice! Should be a great cruiser. Perfect for those straight Indiana roads.

Re: The "Bomber" my GL1100 project

yahhhh buddy! that thing is mean!!!! i love it.... hey do you have any print out of how you wired the front end wiht out the fairing on there? that is where i am stuck

Re: The "Bomber" my GL1100 project

Oh wait...haha...you're right! Tracy sews and we got to talking about it last night and she clued me in (told me I'm a moron).....
I did not know that it was measured ON TOP of the shoulder, I was thinking from the arm pit to the wrist.
I'm a 2XL and my sleeve length according to SWiMBO (She Who Must instantly Be Obeyed) is 35-36" as well. My problem is I have a bull neck and a 54" chest....try buying a riding coat to fit. BAH!

Regardless of my lack of proportionate knowledge......dig the bike!

I am trying man! this damn $800 new HP / Vista 'puter doesn't want to read the mini-discs, even the ones that ran on my old Compac running M.E.. I downloaded a reader today on the work computer to read MPEG 2's so I should be able to rip it off the mini disc then burn it to a full size DVD-RW and bring it home to load it on you-tube... Need to do it from home beacuase you-tube is blocked at work
::)

Dude, mine was a Standard when it was new, all I had to do was repair the hack job to the harness the PO did to install the Vetter fairing. Let me see if I can get you the Standard schematic.
Also I am still looking for that igntion switch for you.

I would make a hack rig out of another one of these without a second thought!

HERE YA ARE JOE! I loaded it on my webshots album, you can click on this image to go there then on the top right is a "full view" link...

I also Posted the same thumbnail to it on your build thread

Here it is, finally figured out how to upload videos onto the computer (@ work) and then onto youtube. Lets see if this one has sound. Actually should be two videos but I still am working on the editing skills. First was a long winded attempt to describe whats been done, but the picture is better. Then the "Take two" kicks in about 3:12, running better but a little dark...

81 GL1100 fired up

haha, good work, that sounds fantastic. Great vid. Purple is not typically my color but the bike looks great.

Great work on the build.

Nice stuff, sounding and looking good. To make it even better, I was listening to iTunes in the background and 'Long Cool Woman' by The Hollies kicked in at 3:12 haha. Try it, good combo.

Anyway, getting bloody close to getting the beast on the road, good to see it.

All the best - boingk
