Glad to see you two have made nice! Progress will be slow this weekend on the scooter. Gotta go paint tonight, work my day job Sat, go to a b day party Sat night and the bike show Sunday. I'd like to think that somewhere in there I'll find time to Line the inside of my tank so it will have plenty of time to day.
Lunacy is correct,frank. I'm a Kawi whore from way back having had several KZ650s' and a 900,. Now you cant touch a decent runner for less that $1,000.00 and back 10 to 15 years ago people were nearly giving them away. I just don't think I would have the heart to cut one up.

Ok you can have the weekend off, I won't make any progress this weekend either between daughters Volleyball games and 110 (+-) weather, tuff to get out in the garage.
Since we are confessing I owned both an H1 & H2 in College, if the right one came along I'd snatch it up, any early Kawi street 2 stroker for that matter.

I've owned a couple Kawi's in my lifetime:
As you can tell, I've had quite a few brands in my possesion, but Kawi is my pride & joy!
This is my 1st a '79 KZ650 SR
My 2nd an '80 KZ1000 Ltd with a 78 Z1R motor:
3rd scoot was an '80 KZ750:
4th bike was the KZ650 SR for a 2nd time. This time I "cafe'" it, with a bore job out to an 810cc:
Then my Suzuki days...an '87 GSX-R 1100 nick named the "Devil's Lightswitch":
Short interim bike, a minter '82 Ltd 750 for $500:

Thanks! The Red Coat in the tank should be dry today so I can get the tank back on and do a shake down run with it. Then its finish the seat/tail combo, strip her down and make it pretty.

It's been a good week. Shed framer came down a few day earlier and we fired her up with not very good results. Would not rev for beans, so yesterday we dug back in and he found a few issues that he promptly cured! Purrs like a kitten!
As you can see I got away from the saddle bag tail section after another "adult cigarette" and a reminder for the shed farmer I decided to see what the original seat would look like mocked up Cafe' style. The bars are off the KLR and are gonna need to be trimmed up a little. Oh yeah, and I polished more bright work. Flitz is the shit.
