Hello all....Chris from the ACT . My 1st post.... I have been watching this and other threads Re the Skyteam Ace .
Have been away from bikes for 28 yrs. Mainly Ducati, Honda, and Moto Guzzi in my past. My brother has a Ducati ST2 which I ride occasionally , but have been getting the urge again for my own. Iv'e just retired, so do not have a lot of dollars to invest , so the Honda CB400/4 that I would really like is a little bit out of reach. I'm enviromently friendly being 168cm and 68Kg , so the perfect Ace size. Thanks to you all..(.and a change of partner...LOL) I have decided to join the aces. I like the availability of all the mods that I can do myself ,at a reasonable outlay.

welcome aboard!
hope you have as much fun with the bike as i have had so far. Just changing tyres over to m45's. almost as easy as pushbike tyres.
bike stand makes the job easy as i have both front and rear wheels off at the same time...this stand is a winner!

Hi Chris,
Like most of us on here. We have been around the block so to speak when it comes to motorcycles, so the ACE gives us the chance to do now what we would of liked to do when we were younger if we could of only afforded it.
Hope you have as much fun playing/tuning your ACE as the rest of us do.

I know that if I'd spent as much time riding it as much as I have messing with it it would be well run in now if not worn out.

If there's anything you need to know about your ACE, most of the answers are on this site.
Plus, feel free to add your own as there is always something new, Tad.

Thanks fellas......All's good in the slow lane.........Hope this blog keeps going...I've found it very informative.

Having moved to Hobart for a while in 1998,( had to return to the mainland...could not find work etc. Tas was going through a bit of a downturn) sounds like West Hobart you live in . We lived in Poets Rd. I remember a hill...Browne Rd I think, that was so steep , I can't imagine the little Ace getting up there at all....LOL.
Chris.

It's leaking past the gasket somehow - have you checked the cover screws for tightness?

Removing the cover to check or replace the gasket is no big deal.

Anyone knows where to get the whole set of gasket? And is it possible to use other bike gasket? I might have damage quite a lot of gasket .. even at spark plug area!

this is the site for OEM spares, they should have the gaskets you need.

While the ace motor is nearly the same as a honda cg-125 there is no way to be sure that honda gaskets would fit with out getting some.
so i would stick to the ace gaskets

is it possible that the bolt you have replaced with allen head was slightly shorter than the replacement?
you may have gone through the bottom of a blind hole. this bolt goes near an oiled section of the crank case (cam followers are behind it.) not a big problem or hard to see if you have.. take bolt out and probe with a stiff bit of wire. see if hole goes right through . if it does , don't panic...not a big problem.
if you have , put some thread seal on bolt(lock tight). should be fine
use a locktite that is not permanent . ask at auto parts place what to use.
