Today I learned...

those kind suck. most of the ones I have used have the codes on the wires and a legend to refence. I also print them out at work on 11x17 paper and make like 5-6 copies cause I write on em and get em all greasy and stuff.

yeah this one had no legend. I'd like to say it was pilot error due to alcohol, but alas, I was sober even if the boys weren't... and I saw no way to sort it out either.

Without turning this into another colorblind discussion thread, colorblind people can still see colors, we just have a hard time distinguishing shades of colors.

To do the wiring, I rely on 3 things:
Guessing
A multimeter
An assistant

But I don't care if you are colorblind or not, a 40 year old white wire looks just like a 40 year old gray wire looks just like a 40 year old light blue wire looks just like a 40 year old pink wire.

Jenn, yes, a non-labeled B/W diagram would be near useless.

TIL... that black and white wiring diagrams are utterly useless and a gigantic pita.
That is unless you were wrenching in the days that B/W schematics is all there was. ;)
There should be abreviations on the wires in the diagram that say O, Y, B, or even Lt BL/Y... But if you are taking a color diagram and printing it in Black-n-Wite you are getting only half the picture.
Talk to me Sister... which bike are you having issues with... the 350 or 400?

Neither. Haha it's the kawa s2 triple. I have a Haynes manual I'm using and the diagram is b&w... with no indication of colors or a legend of any sort to decipher the wires. I now have a color wiring diagram, so things should be a little better. Haha

Where the HELL did THAT come from?
Well, there goes the neighborhood.
;)
Seriously, got a link? I am all kinds of jealous.

E is being a great sport about having a two-stroke in the family ;D

I don't have a build thread started for her yet, but I'm planning to get one started this week. She's gonna be a fun one. :D

that is why i only play with hondas
then i dont need a wiring diagram

I know, right?

I've seriously thought about only doing Honda harnesses. :p
Maybe my Honda's will be easier then. *fingers crossed*

Matt, last night I was so frustrated with the wiring harness, I told E and Chris that we should just tear it out and have you make a new one. Fresh start. Haha

I need a new upper triple for my 360. Trade?

I do believe we can arrange that.

I think the one for the s2 will be fine now that I have a proper wiring diagram. But I will need one for the 350.

Lol. I have done wiring on 3 hondas and it is super easy all the same colours, same logic etc. The little kawasaki 185 wheeler was wired by a dislexic crack head in comparison. The do weird shit with grounds being switched and stuff. I couldnt get a wiring diagram and there was some tense moments with the multi meter. Why would you make a ground a ground only sometimes wtf is the point of that! Have fun on the s2 and when you get to the 400f and 350 you will see some much easier wiring. Even if there is a bunch of extra stuff just so it all connects in tge headlight bucket lol.

Maritime, did they do this to reverse the polarity on some components?

The Kawi? I don't think so I think they just use it as a way to turn off components with the key. It just messes with my brain as I always expect a swtich to kill hot.
