Victoria! Zeke's CB175 Build

It means weight that is not supported by the shocks. Stuff like tires, wheels, axles, and the swingarm. Anything sitting below the springs. It has a seriously detrimental effect on handling and is one of the reason USD forks are commonly used on sport bikes these days. It's also the reason that many mono-shock setups made from stock swingarms are mainly for looks; it adds unsprung weight.

Awesome. That makes a lot of sense. I can see what you were talking about

I found this pic of a SL175 with an alternate suspension system (among numerous other mods) and thought you may be interested. From Sonreir's description above, it seems like the shock placement here would help eliminate unsprung weight.

This pic sums up the spirit of DTT. Junior "itchybuns moto" Burrell ;) can't sit still and dropped what he was doing to pass the torch.

The advantage of a single shock over twin shocks is rigidity and that really comes down to swingarm design. The average twin shock swingarm from back in the day could be bent by just grabbing the top of teh rear wheel and pull/push on it. You can usually deflect it with that little force. When manufacturers went to monshocks they started to make swingarms much stiffer and that's what we want.

Junior is the man and Zeke will be when he is done learning too!

guys I had an awesome idea of making a replica cr77 racer street legal version with Victoria. Junior had a couple of "trash" tanks and one of them looked like cr77 tank(tanks were not complete). Does anybody have any ideas for the bike? We might do the monoshock. We might not do it just to keep the realistic look of the original cr77 race bike.

Search for CR93. It was the 125 version and has a frame very close to a CB160. That particular bike is a modified CB77 so CR77 replica in a loose sort of sense.

CR replica is an awesome idea and I was thinking the same thing for a CB160 I picked up this week. I never made the mold for the tank bottom, so maybe I can make a small steel tank and use the tank top as a cover. CB175 vertical has a very different frame and motor shape but no reason why it couldn't be turned into a CR replica.

CR93 is an awesome bike but too expensive for me. I did rebuild one once and raced so the owner could get some publicity and it was surprisingly fun and fast and incredibly noisy.

I was actually thinking of buying an engine that was seized off of eBay. I would have to get a frame but we have a 160 frame so that might work. But on the tank part I'm building one out of a trash tank juinor gave us but it was only the top not the tunnel. So I will post a video of me welding it together whenever we get the tunnel.

i changed the eBay password because the "asking your mom forgiveness instead of permission" has been used...and if she catches you sanding your tanks in her sunroom...http://books.google.com/books?id=TB2v4CR7K4kC&pg=PA25&lpg=PA25&dq=cr93+head&source=bl&ots=LZApz33brO&sig=sY7soRVeU8eZIf_n9zqK4KxFP3U&hl=en&sa=X&ei=KtA9U4OFFqrFsATH5oHgBw&ved=0CE4Q6AEwDQ#v=twopage&q=cr93%20head&f=true
