So by changing out the needle jet we are trying to lean out the fuel mixture 1/2-3/4 throttle to match the lean at WOT??? Then we can increase the main jet and bring zen to the carb???

Why wouldn't you lower the float hight ( to raise the fuel level / pressure in the bowl) which would be like turning on the tap more?

Correct. We are in search of harmony and peace. The correct height of spray tube brings asymmetric balance to the fuel curve resulting in harmonious combustion. Did I tell you I write for Fortune Cooking dot com? LOL

Taller spray bar is closer to the center of the carb where flow is faster and therefore it allows more fuel to flow because essentially the signal is stronger. But as revs rise, that taller nozzle will tend to act disproportionately stronger than a shorter one and will make the mixture richer as revs rise - at the same throttle opening (WOT in this case) and keeping flow the same at lower engine speeds.

The air jet has a similar effect on flows.

Changing float levels and needle jet diameter (or needle root diameter) change flow at all engine speeds and while not proportionately, not as effectively to tip the fuel curve. But just raising the fuel level (lower float height) may be enough to lift the whole curve sufficiently to hit that home run.

Close to how it actually operates.
Longer nozzle has more turbulence at low throttle openings and should deliver more fuel as throttle is cracked open (once the top sees a signal from air flow, it may be shrouded by slide)

You don't measure overall length, just from flange to top. (the smaller diameter)
The overall length may be different but I've seen them where only the flange 'moves' and emulsion tube has to screw further into cab body.
I'll take some measurements of CB360 as I have some laying about (carbs in pieces at present)
 
OAL = 11.52mm
Minor dia. = 4.97mm
Major dia = 5.19mm
flange from top = 5.55mm
Flange width/thickness = 1.55mm
 
Most slide carbs from that era are the same diameter and same bottom end but different heights.

I measured
CB160-175 10mm OAL
CB77 10mm
CB750 K0 12mm

I have 1.0mm air jets available (stock is 1.5mm according to my notes) and a couple of those 2.6 * 3.6 CB750 12mm jets if you need them.
