XV920 "Short Bus"

I've been researching the 535 hub for my cx500 cafe project.
I'm fairly confident I can make it work which would be a lot cheaper spoke conversion for the CX than some others out there.

I'm amazed and how much that tank changes the entire vibe of the bike. The cruizerness has effectively vanished!

For the record, I really like where this is going.
For the sake of the conversation, the XV535 had a shaft hub with spokes.
Not certain if it will mate with your diff, but it's something to consider. I really like these motors, but the swoopy wheels kill me.

It's probably possible to unbolt the steel drive spline from wheel and fit it to almost any other shaft drive wheel
Chain drive wheels won't usually have enough inset to clear rear drive housing

Neat. I would use a radius cutter for the removal of the square edge to prevent stress cracks
BTW, in case I didn't mention it already, inspired use of CB750/900 tank.
Looks real good on there

Front brakes are done.

My replacement starter showed up today so I gleefully skipped out to the garage to put it in, and got the engine to chug along a little bit - front cylinder is firing but the rear is not. Rear coil tests OK, and I'm getting voltage to the coil from the TCI (didn't check for drop, though, yet). So I need to make sure that my new plug caps are good (should be ~5K ohms) and then test the pickup coil (which is a common failure point). Not tonight, though, as we have my 3-year-old's birthday party tomorrow; every year one kid gets a super party and it's his turn, so there are going to be some 30 people here tomorrow, half of them not yet old enough to drive, so I need to get some sleep.

Worst case, I need to get another pickup coil or rewire the one that I've got, and then tune the carb. Anyone who would like to see this bike in action can plan on checking it out in Kentucky at the Thaw. See youse guys in a few weeks.

mjpriceisright and a buddy just rolled out of here (for those keeping track: there were three viragoes in about a 100' radius, marking the start of the lamest MC ever) and I'll get back to this after some zzzzzzzzzzzzghhfdgg.

Ill paypal you 3 $ if you paint the front wheel up like a pinwheel and put a daisy on the headlight! Lookin good man. This bike will come together yet

Three bucks huh? We'll see how good this grass is and I'll get back to ya

Didn't order a refill of female connections soon enough. Tomorrow, this bike will fire up.

Think I'll go ahead and get a set of pickups on order, just in case - I was definitely at least the second person to do this. Hopefully I crimped it better than my predecessor.

Since it hasn't been said in a few pages.
Do a rear wheel conversion and your front brake sucks
Good luck tomorrow

the more I think of it why wasn't the ring gear and the locating widget made in one piece ?
brazed , re-assembled , done .

P.S. what carpy said ;-)

Dropped my seat off with Mr. Shoe Leather this afternoon to be sewn up. He was very polite, I mean, impressed with my leatherworking.
