XV920 "Short Bus"

Thanks fellas. It's only really loud when i throttle up, or when it's running.

Thanks man! Should be able to pick up my seat on Friday...then it'll be as done as it's going to get until I save up some more cash (and finish all of the household projects that have languished while I've been working on this thing. Someone taped a honey-do list up in the garage with handwriting that looks suspiciously like my wife's).

Ha, I know how that goes, At least you will get to haul ass to the thaw. I won't. I think I should buy the old virago from my buddy and make something cool out of it like you and MJ are doing. It is only a 535 but has spokes and is light so it might make a cool back roads bomber

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the most fun I have had on a virago. Looking forward to having my real seat, though.

haha looks awesome man, i cant wait to get out and ride, so nice out!!! except my current running bike is about 830cc smaller than yours.

The only flaw to the whole thing is the wheels, the rest is friggin cool as hell. Looks great and I bet much more responsive to ride than the factory riding position. I wonder if you blacked the wheels out if it would make them dissappear a bit?? Too bad to change them is the hardest part of these bikes.

To quote a text from one of my amigos about my bike:

"Duuuude... Sittin pretty! Get a seat on it ya stinkin redneck!! "

I may put superbike bars on - but the seating position (distinct, of course, from the pine seat) is quite nice.

Stranded me this morning with a fueling issue though.

rich how does it sit? like being up higher and using the stock foot set placement?

It is not as 'sporty' a position as the CB450 with drag bars; the footpegs are a little forward from what I'm used to, and I'm sitting almost upright.

Whatever. It's fast and it's loud and it's ugly.

this came out pretty darn cool for just throwing parts found by the wayside at it. Very streetfighter-ish. I'm digin' it a whole lot!

Thanks man! The best part is that total, after the seat leather is stitched up, I will have about a hundred bucks into this thing total (including the money I made selling the other Virago I bought along with it, not including my time). I have tried to make a little bit of money with these winter projects - last year, enough to get an o.k. compressor and some small tools - so the only downside is that I don't have a cool new piece of equipment in the shop.

The upside is that I'm ready to sell my CB450 and there's a guy locally who really wants to swap it for his giant pop-up camper. :)

Rich you going to the show in kzoo this weekend? Im considering driving down but I havent heard much about it.
