No updates since last winter. I was crazy busy with work this summer so didn't have any time to work on the bikes. Hopefully now I'll be able to get some done again this winter.
I can't remember for sure how much the swing arm was stretched, but I want to say 4-4.5".
It sure does look like he has started a trend. No updates on the bike yet, I'm on vacation in Hawaii for a week. ;D I left at the right time to it sounds like from people back home. It was snowing when we left and its -6 and snowing again today.
Ya that looks like a picture of Troy's bike. I don't plan on doing that and he has cut his up since then also. It takes away from the clearance you would have between the rear fender and the seat. Did you get the pictures that I sent you of how mine looks?
Not much of an update, but I got my battery and tail light in the mail the other day. Next project will be making a battery box and getting that mounted up to the frame. The Tail light is a Ford 38.
Re: 360 beat the clock update 01/22/10
Cool, so those sounds like the same shocks that I have now then. I'll have to get back out to the garage and mock up how it would sit if I were to move the mounts. Now that I have my seat all ready to bolt on I can check all the clearances and make a...
Re: 360 beat the clock update 01/22/10
Looks good Troy. Looks like you gained some clearance by doing it that way. What shocks are those that you have on there now? They look like the ones I have on mine. I'm still wondering if I should move my top shock mounts on mine, thats why I was...
Thanks for the compliments guys, I wondered that too if some batting would have covered up the couple places on the sides where you can see where the two layers of foam were put together. Overall though I'm real happy with it. It ended up only costing $41 too. I was real happy with that since...
I got the seat covered today. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It was my first time covering a seat so I think it turned out well. I used some spray adhesive to attach it to the foam pad and smoothed that all out and folded it over. Then just went along with and awl and made a hole...
I borrowed a buddy's cordless impact and got the forks apart today. So those are all back together and back on the bike. Just waiting for my special order fork oil now... ::) The place in town didn't stock any heavier than 10wt. I'm hoping to get to work on the seat some tonight.
I went out and tested how it felt on the bike. I liked it so thats what I'll go with. I just got done painting the pan, (thinking I should have drilled the holes around the edge first) but that should be dry today and maybe I'll try to drill the holes tonight or tomorrow and get the thing covered.
I'm sitting here looking at the seat wondering if I should leave it with the two layers of foam like I have it or if I should take one off and only have one layer. The layers are 1/2" thick. In the pics above nothing has changed yet on the front end height since I couldn't get the forks apart...
Here's a few more pics with the seat mounted up. I got some padding for it today and went looking for some leather to cover it with. I was asking my Dad if he knew of any places in town to get leather and he said he had some I could have. He had a bunch of deer skin that is a dark brown. It...
I am looking for the size of socket I need to that goes inside the fork tube to take the damper rod out. From looking down the tube it looks like a hex head is needed, but I'm not sure what size to get. The sets I looked at are of smaller sizes than what it looks like is needed for this.
